A Message on Datta Jayanti – Part 1: The Helping Hand

by Jack Barratt, UK

Today is Datta Jayanti. It is the day that we pay our respects to Lord Dattatreya and His principles of non-violence, inclusivity, unconditional love, deep transformation and complete liberation. From the time of the great Avatar, Shripad Shri Vallabha, and up until today, Dattatreya has been continuously present through the forms of his Embodied Emanations. Indeed, up until the very end of this present era, of Kali Yuga, Dattatreya will continue to manifest Himself through the presence of Perfectly Enlightened Avadhootas in order to keep the flame of Sanatana Dharma burning on this Earth.

Lord Dattatreya is not like an ordinary soul that floats around the various dimensions of created existence before deciding to take another birth. He is rather an all-encompassing Principle – He is That which manifests the Truth of the Supreme Consciousness through a distinct signature that is designed to connect to sentient beings of a certain karmic constitution. Thus, in order for Datta to manifest, he sacrifices nothing of his own all-pervading, all-knowing and all-powerful stature; just like when we use a candle to light another candle, Lord Datta simply parts off a part of His own Nature and encases it within the five sheaths, or koshas, of manifested elemental existence. This is how those Sublime Beings that are known as Datta Avatars take birth in this world time and time again.

In this day and age, we have been blessed with the presence of Brahmarishi Mohanji. He is the first incarnation of Lord Dattatreya in history to fully modernise the Tradition by creating various methods, practices and platforms that allow people to connect their consciousness to the Supreme Consciousness of Lord Datta and his Tradition of spiritual perfection. The higher stations of this great Tradition will always remain the same and are unalterable. They are reached through the process of total dissolution – which is to be accomplished through gradual absorption into nirbija samadhi, which is that state where there is no-mind, no personality and no karmic pattern – a state of absolute interior silence that must, in order to be perfected, be seamlessly integrated into a natural benevolent life in the world. Now, in this day and age, Mohanji has provided a path for all pure and sincere beings to eventually reach this state from wherever they presently stand. This is a tremendous, unfathomable grace and blessing from the higher realms of existence.

The Datta Tradition

There is a reason why Mohanji has been sent at this present time. It is because we are approaching a time where a deep divide will manifest within the collective consciousness of humanity. Beings will either go one way or another – towards a future of continuous war, interspecies violence and technological slavery, or towards the eternal bliss of what is real and its expressions through unconditional love and selfless service.

As certain forces in the world, and the overall vibration of this Earth becomes denser, there will be less of a middle-ground between these two extremes of divine living and ignorant, violent, miserable existing. Brahmarishi Mohanji has been sent as a lifeboat from the higher realms – he has been sent as a hand for people to grasp onto in order to lift themselves up. The Tradition will always continue, and as long as there remains beings who long for Liberation, Avadhootas will be continually be sent to provide a path for them, to provide the necessary grace, power and guidance.

But there will perhaps be no Being that makes this path as easy and accessible as Mohanji has made it. Future Emanations of Lord Dattatreya, due to the times that we are heading into, will either remain hidden in complete or partial physical seclusion, working in the subtler realms, or they will manifest in such an unassuming, unexpected or apparently ordinary way that only those with an already highly refined and subtle spiritual perception will be able to recognise their true stature, and thus take their blessings.

Mohanji has appeared in a highly accessible form. He has travelled the entire world giving methods, teachings and blessing to all living and non-living beings continually on levels that may be entirely imperceptible to most people. No one that has come to him has been turned away. He has even allowed people of all kinds, without prior qualification, to touch his divine body and lotus feet, to hug him and take pictures, etc. This is unprecedented behaviour for an Avadhoota, and it is yet another sign that Mohanji has been sent as a helping hand, as a true ‘Friend of the World’, to allow as many people as possible to tie themselves to this Tradition, to begin building their foundations in the realms of spiritual perfection before it becomes a lot more difficult to do so in the times that our approaching.

The time to connect is now. Those who do not connect themselves to the Consciousness of Mohanji right now, with full love, sincerity and the genuine desire to become Liberated Beings will struggle to hang on to the Path and Tradition of Lord Dattatreya in the times that are to come. This is the Path of Fire, where we must continually be in the process of relinquishing, to the degree that we are capable, all patterns of personal karmic perception, thinking and acting in order to stay connected and merge ourselves into the Consciousness of the Higher Realms on ever-deepening levels. If we cannot do that, then when the Tradition ‘shakes its tree’ by triggering people’s egos and making them increasingly uncomfortable within their rigid, self-limiting prisons of conditioned thinking and perceiving, then such people will be thrown off unceremoniously.

It will never be as easy as it is now. The Path, the Tradition will be there. Lord Datta will be there. Sai Baba will be there. Mohanji, albeit in a subtler form, will be there. The helping hand will certainly be there. But it is now an undeniable fact – those of us who wish to hold on to that hand will have to do more.

Mundane karmic life is eternal – but it is unconscious and ultimately unfulfilling. The divine life is also eternal – but it is experienced consciously in, and as, the Sublime Light-Ocean of Sat Chit Ananda. The great Avadhoota, Brahmarishi Mohanji has provided a way for all beings to reach those illumined shores of perfection in one lifetime. May all sincere, worthy beings grasp onto his golden lotus feet whilst there is still time.

Day 97 Lesson – Time to laugh

Good morning, everybody. I hope you’re doing very well. From time to time, when I go to Mohanji’s room to speak to him about something, he’ll be sitting there with his phone, giggling to himself and laughing. He really enjoys laughing. Although our work is very serious in the world, he completes it all with lightness, fun, and humour—especially the recent trips with friends.

I think many who have met Mohanji or attended retreats will know and experience that side of Mohanji because he has a really good sense of humour and a very quick wit. He says that those who can laugh even at the height of their sorrows are always happy.

Today, for a change, as many of my voice recordings are about the pace of the activities and how Mohanji is moving forward with everything we’re doing, I remind myself that there’s always time to laugh and smile. In fact, someone from my team said this yesterday. I wanted to share a story that Mohanji shared with me and others. Maybe people have also heard it during one of the retreats or satsangs. But it really cracked up everyone listening.

The story was about a Swami. For a long time, this Swami had refused house visits. Traditionally, people will invite the Swami or the guru to the house. He wouldn’t go to see anybody at their home for a very, very long time. But there was one devotee who was really insistent; his only wish was that he would come and visit the home just once. He had a huge desire. After asking and asking and asking, eventually, the Swami agreed. He broke his rule, or he relaxed his rule that he wouldn’t go to anybody’s house.

Swami came, they had food, and everything was good. Then it came time for Aarti; Swami was sitting there, with his long beard, and his eyes were closed. This person was doing Aarti with fire, with a lot of devotion, bhaav, and so much feeling that he got carried away with the moment. He also closed his eyes. And the next thing, a few seconds later, the Swami’s beard was on fire, smoke and flames, and the Swami was furious. He got up and ran out of the house, saying that he’d never come back again.

It was really funny. Mohanji was completely creased over laughing with this story, as was everybody else. Even now, I still remember him trying to speak and not laugh.

Sometimes in the morning, I’ll come in, and he’ll be giggling, checking the Facebook activity. A video will come up because he likes a 70s British comedy called ‘Mind your language.’ It’s very silly. He showed me one of the episodes the other day. It’s about an English school, where you have everybody from different countries; like an Italian person, a Spanish man, someone from India. All of them come together in one class to learn a language, so there’s just miscommunication happening all the time with these stereotypes. It’s really funny, like a Fawlty Towers style comedy.

I hope you have a good day and that there are many opportunities for you to laugh. Speak soon.

Day 98 Lesson – The connection

Good morning, everybody. I hope you’re doing well.

At the moment, the annual Global Summit 2021 is taking place for all the Mohanji platforms. This includes everything; from the Foundation to Ammucare, ACT Foundation, Early Birds Club, World Consciousness Alliance. It’s all of them coming together, all the heads of these platforms, the individual countries, and the activity heads, such as the Sadhana and Mai-Tri teams. Everybody comes together to set the focus for the year ahead and share in discussion on any important topics that need to have alignment across the teams.

For me, this is my second year attending. I have found it both times a humbling experience because you get to hear of all the great work, which you might not normally hear about, that’s being conducted globally across the world through all the activities. Especially so given the situation with COVID, many activities have been taking place, even though we’ve had difficulties.

There’s a large global presence in diverse activities; there is a focus and strengthening of the teams ready to take more steps ahead. Especially with the Mohanji benevolence centres, which are also on the way, we’ll finally have our own physical space where we can meet and conduct activities. They will exist as the representation of what the tradition stands for.

When I see this, I have even more admiration, respect, and appreciation for Mohanji. He has been the source for all of it; it has come from him. What I’m learning as well on the spiritual path, since being with Mohanji, is that in life, I have to face the realities that are in front of me. In this instance, it’s Mohanji who’s brought forward all these various platforms and activities that have brought us all together. He’s the reason why people are probably listening to this, too.

It’s only through Mohanji that all of this is able to come to me. Especially the awareness of things such as the Tradition, Guru Mandala, all the various Datta masters that have existed throughout the heritage. I’ve read about the tradition, but what I come back to is I haven’t seen or experienced the tradition itself, what it is. I only know that it’s there because of Mohanji. And he’s the representation of it.

The same goes for other things like Guru Mandala; I know it as a concept, I have the actual picture, but I haven’t seen the connection it’s meant to portray, I haven’t touched it. Again, I only know of it because of the connection to Mohanji. He has brought that to me. Only through connecting to him, I have that awareness of it.

I’ve heard Mohanji share a great illustration to highlight the learning of being practical, staying with the connection in front of me. He says that when you have electricity in your house, you have a plug socket, that’s the electricity, and that’s the socket that’ll give you light when you plugin. This electricity is, of course, all outside the house and in other people’s houses. But that’s not available to me. So, what you can do is plug into the connection that’s in front of you.

I remind myself of this as an ongoing lesson because it’s only through the connection with Mohanji that awareness of all these possibilities increases. It’s only through that connection I’ve been able to benefit so much and gain fulfilment from all these platforms, like many others across the world, too. That’s the reality that’s in front of us; that’s the connection that’s there.

There’s another story Mohanji shared, which I also come back to in my mind: when someone asked another person if the Guru and the God came both in front of you, which would you bow down to first? The answer was, bow down to the Guru first because that’s who took you or gave you the opportunity to meet God.

Therefore, the lesson is to make sure I’m sticking with my reality because all these other things of the tradition, Guru Mandala, lineage, etc., I can’t actually touch or experience, but I do know that I can experience what’s in front of me.

I hope you have a great day ahead, and I’ll share another message very soon.

Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 93 & 94

Christopher Greenwood

Day 93 – “Does Mohanji ever get irritated with all the people wanting his time?”

Good morning, everybody. I hope you’re doing well.

As we’re planning for the Turkey retreat with Mohanji, it’s a stark reminder of the reality that we’re facing now in the world. It’s a complex situation, and many considerations have to be taken into account.

I was thinking back to my Acharya training a few years ago, where Mohanji said that we can expect to see many calamities in the coming years, especially between 2020 and 2022, running then until the end of 2020s. I don’t think I could ever have imagined what we’re facing now—such an unpredictable situation.

One thing I’ve noticed, especially in recent months and weeks, is that many of the meetings we’re having are around spaces. That’s very important because these spaces in the future will probably be a place of solace and stability for many people.

The vision for each is going back to the ways of the tradition; living in harmony with nature, beautiful, spacious, with forests, with water, with all the elements, with good vegan food, locally grown and organic products, wholesome practices, chanting, kirtans, yoga, and spaces for meditation and connection to the self.

As the world turbulence increases, it will be much more difficult to find peace and a space to connect. Because if it’s not calm and peaceful outside, and it’s uncertain, how can you connect inside? So, many of the meetings are about moving everything forward step by step with what we have.

Coming back to Mohanji, his philosophy is “Do it today, no postponement, no delay, it’s now”. Because tomorrow we don’t know. But if we take a step today, at least we’ve taken that much.

Yesterday, I received a great question from somebody. I felt that the answer I was sharing was also useful for this voice recording because it could give more of a dimension to Mohanji about how he approaches life, and especially how he approaches people. The question was: “Does Mohanji ever get irritated or show any sign of emotion when dealing with such a high volume of different people, where some people may be genuine, and others have impossible expectations?”

It’s a good question. Coming up to a year now being this close to Mohanji, I’ve shared that many different types of people come to him and connect to him in different ways. In fact, it’s completely unique. I’ve been in situations where somebody has asked a question to Mohanji. They got one answer. And then someone else has asked the same question and got a completely different answer.

The same for me, when I’ve asked Mohanji a question, I got an answer. Then, if I asked him the same question again, he’d give something else. So now, I generally take the first answer. Otherwise, it can be confusing. This may seem simple on the surface, but I believe and perceive that he’s connecting with all possibilities. At a specific time, he responds to what’s presented to him. So, every interaction is unique, based on the situation, as per the time, the space and the person present.

I’ve also noticed that he simply gives what he can regardless of their background, position, wealth, or status. His approach is something that I’m learning from watching him as well, because people who come to him, there’s no judgment from Mohanji’s side; there’s nothing. He really lives and treats people with respect. That is what we should be doing with everybody we meet – recognizing the positive qualities in them and nurturing them. Even if there are negative qualities, there’s good in everybody. That’s what we want to try and bring out.

Regarding the irritation aspect: from my speaking to him and some situations which have happened here, he doesn’t get irritated or angry emotionally in that sense. There’s only ever an intensity. It’s not anger, but I feel an intensity. It could look like that on the face of it, but it’s more of a shakeup when tamas or laziness starts to creep in. Especially when the ego starts to sprout, he gives a big hit, which can really shake you up. But once it’s over, it’s over; he doesn’t hold on to that experience. It completely leaves his mind, and sometimes he won’t even remember.

So, it’s always situational. What I’ve experienced as well is, depending on my mental state at the time, how connected I am internally, whether I’ve got a bit of a scattered mind at that time, or I haven’t got as much focus or clarity, I’ll get the corresponding response back. He is like a mirror; he gives me that reflection so I can understand where I stand that day.

I’ve always thought, but I can’t tell for sure (because Mohanji doesn’t speak about this), is that Mohanji can always see why people are coming to him. And if he can’t see it, his attitude is that he is a dog of the tradition – loyal, faithful, and ever ready to serve. He then feels everybody who comes in front of him has been sent by the tradition, and he really respects that. Everything that comes to him, whether it’s bad, good, or a gift, is straight away offered to the feet of Baba and the tradition.

That’s Shirdi Sai Baba, who has played a big part in his life. Therefore, he’s always treating people with respect, humility, and love. When we were travelling, and actually everywhere else, straightaway everybody’s welcomed, with water, food, whatever they need, he makes them feel comfortable.

A learning for me is to put aside my mind and my opinion and accept that whoever is meant to meet him will meet him—the reasons why I don’t know. I also don’t need to know. I just recognize that there will be a purpose behind it.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that often, beyond what a person’s status is, their position or the power, the purest of hearts that call him, the sincerest ones, he reaches them. And he’ll go to lengths to respond to a pure call from the heart in a variety of different ways.

Expanding on that question, “Does he ever get irritated? How does he deal with all the people when some of them are genuine, and some might have impossible expectations?” I think the best example of this is that previously, he knew that some of the closest people would actually betray him. And if he didn’t know, he accepted it as it happened. In the past, there were some challenging times when those closest to him completely tried to destroy him, tarnish his image, and make sure that there would be no more Mohanji in the world.

There’s no anger; there’s no resentment for him. He believes that life will take care of that. Also, he often says that he is here to give people their fulfilment, in whatever way, shape, or form that is. So, if their idea of fulfilment is to have the experience of tarnishing his name or betrayal, then for him, he is here as the method for that experience to take place. Either way, for him, everything is fulfilment. Nothing is good or bad. It is what it is. And the karmic cycles will do whatever is needed to address those.

From these observations, and from the learning about the mind being the seat of emotions, and the fact that what we project out into the world we receive corresponding experiences back, it makes it easy to see what it’s like when someone’s operating from a state of no-mind or very minimal mind. No emotions are really kept. There’s just a response at the time; whoever’s in front, and whatever has to be delivered is delivered.

I hope you have a great day ahead. I will speak to you soon.

Day 94 – Mohanji revealing

Good morning, everybody. I hope you’re doing well.

I’ve mentioned before in previous voice recordings that there’s never a dull day living with Mohanji; there is always activity, movement, and momentum. He has a very clear focus on what he wants to achieve. It really amazes me because, over time, more and more are coming to life, various projects are coming forward, which are all complementary to the one purpose of raising the awareness of the Earth, raising the consciousness to a frequency where Satya Yuga or a Golden Age could become a reality. Each day, each hour, each conversation that he’s having is focused on how things can be moved forward in that direction.

For example, he gave great orientation to the team leading the land developments for the Centers of Benevolence – about the next steps given this time and the challenges with COVID, how quickly we can move it forward, doing what we can with what we have.

We’ve been planning the Turkey retreat to be organized well. Today also marks the beginning of the Global Summit. This is the annual event of all the heads of all the platforms across the Mohanji organizations, where we come together and reflect on what we accomplished in the previous year, and then look forward to the year ahead – what are the goals, what would we like to achieve, etc. This kicks off today.

Lately, I’ve been observing that the speed has increased with all the new activities that are coming forward. For example, I shared one of the alignments between Ammucare and another group of people who will come together to form some great projects and initiatives, about which more details will be shared in the future.

As I witnessed these as well, it reminds me of a message Devi Amma shared to Mohanji. This was during a time when he was going through serious adversities; many people were going against him. That was clear character assassination. And whilst he was doing everything he could for the good of the world, all these things were happening to him. At that moment, he wanted to know if there was learning that he needed to take from that.

Mohanji asked Devi Amma, as she is connected to and in communion with Sage Agastya, to ask him about it. His reply was that there’s nothing for Mohanji to learn. In fact, he has come fully accomplished, and all he needs to do now is reveal himself.

As these new activities are coming and taking shape, I see them as different dimensions of Mohanji’s purpose and vision in the world, especially in alignment with the ancient Sanatana Dharma principles of righteousness. One of those events, which clearly indicates that, was yesterday’s big event. It was the inauguration of the Sri Jagannath temple Trust in the UK. This temple Trust asked Mohanji to become an advisor to that activity. Their mission is to bring Lord Jagannath, Krishna, the Lord of the Universe, to the UK. It is a grand vision.

Those things don’t happen, as I believe and understand, without the blessings of the Lord, without a plan. So, asking Mohanji to be involved in that and him agreeing and fully supporting that again aligns with those principles of restoring righteousness.

I’m not a scholar, an academic. I haven’t studied too many spiritual scriptures in depth. But one statement which always stuck in my mind, which was shared at the Acharya training, was from the Bhagavad Gita when Krishna was speaking to Arjuna. And he says: “When there’s a decline of righteousness or a decay of Dharma, I happen.”

When I look at all the activities within Mohanji global platforms, they aim to promote righteous ways of living, Ahimsa or non-violence, responsibility, respect for everything around.

Another initiative that is coming forward was only spoken about on the bus as we were going to visit the land in Chikmagalur, where the centre of exclusive sadhana practice will be. The conversation was about the fact that there’s not really a way for people to become aligned to Sanatana Dharma principles. People who believe in the path of living righteousness, Ahimsa, non-violence, living with respect, high human refinement – how can they connect with it more formally?

I am not quite clear about it, but there’s something within the Hindu system where it’s not easily possible to become recognized as being aligned to that way of living. So, they set out to bring together an idea where people could go through a formal ritual, process and registration so that if they wanted to and felt inclined, they could say – I’m a Sanatana Dharmi or a Hindu.

This will be a formal process where people can take on that responsibility and a commitment to living that way of life with a new name. So, this was only a thought a few days ago, and with the pace at which Mohanji is moving, it’s now ready to implement and rollout, and it will be coming soon. It’s another dimension of what Mohanji is bringing to the world. Rather than a lesson, it’s an observation of what’s happening and the speed at which it is happening.

An interesting thing I wanted to share as well, something which I’m recognizing as being consistent, is the change in the shape of Mohanji.

Yesterday, when it was time for the inauguration event of the Shree Jagannath Temple Trust, we prepared everything to be ready; the camera was there, and the microphone was checked. Mohanji took some time; I think he went to see Amma and Acchan. When he came back into the room, he was different. Not completely different, but his hair colour, facial complexion, and body shape had changed.

As we recorded the session, we set the lighting up as we normally would do. It was no different from any other event we tried to set up for. But for some reason, no matter what I tried to do with the lights, I couldn’t reduce the brightness displayed on the Zoom session. It was incredibly bright and golden, and no matter how much we turned the lights down, it remained. It was interesting, very interesting.

I’ll leave you with that for today. I hope you have a good day ahead and speak soon.

Lessons living with Mohanji – Day 13

Day 13 lesson – Blessings from Sathya Sai Baba

By Christopher Greenwood

Yesterday when I went to speak with Mohanji about the Invest in Awareness program I had conducted that day, he told me that Devi Amma talked to him to say that something very, very important had happened. Devi Amma is the saint/Siddha who gave Mohanji the title of Vishvamitra (Friend of the Universe).

Devi Amma was conducting a full-fledged honour to Sathya Sai Baba for his birthday on Monday, 23rd November, and he appeared personally to receive the offering. There were only her niece, nephew and two German people with her.

He (Baba) spoke to her and told her that he was really proud of the work that Mohanji was doing in the world and how he is doing it. He (Mohanji) has his full support. She could then see Mohanji in a subtle form bowing to Baba. Baba blessed Mohanji and showered him with flowers.

It was very important for Mohanji and all of us in the Foundation/platforms. We are often unaware of the support, the grace, and the backing that Mohanji, the platforms and all its people have from the Tradition.

Good morning, everybody. I hope you had a great day yesterday.

For me, yesterday was really busy. And as sometimes can happen, it was also busy for Mohanji. So we didn’t really speak too much. Some days are like that because I don’t want to disturb him and there’s plenty of things to be doing.

But in the evening, I had some updates to share. I had conducted a program for Invest in Awareness, which I mentioned yesterday. It went really well, and I wanted to share how it went – who attended, any feedback, this type of thing. When I spoke to him, he told me that a very important thing had happened yesterday and he relayed this story. He said that Devi Amma had been trying desperately to reach him. His phone was being unavailable, so she eventually connected to Rajesh. For those that don’t know Devi Amma, she’s an established saint. Mohanji says she’s a living Siddha who’s deeply connected to Sage Agastya and other Masters. And it’s she who actually shared that Mohanji is a great Master who has been sent here to spread unconditional love, both on Earth and beyond – Vishvamitra, or friend of the Universe.

So Mohanji told me the story – that Devi Amma had called, and he said that he would take the call from his room. She told him something very, very important happened yesterday. And this was on Sathya Sai Baba’s 95th birthday on 23rd November. She was performing a full-fledged honour to him, and he actually appeared. She was with her niece and nephew, and also two German people were there. But other than that, there was nobody else with them.

Sai Baba came, and Baba actually accepted the offerings from her. He said: “By the way, I’m really proud of Mohanji. I really like his work and the way he does it, and I’m fully supporting him.” And she said she could then see Mohanji in subtle form, bowing down to him. Then Baba touched Mohanji’s head and blessed him, and put a lot of flowers over him. He basically endorsed the activity – our activity, the Mohanji Foundation’s activity.

This was really big for Mohanji and the whole platform because it’s endorsed then by Satya Sai Baba. And he said these kinds of things are what keep us moving because it’s not easy to walk against such negativities and obstacles. People might not understand that’s the support that all this has behind it. Those who matter, like Sage Agastya, have told Devi Amma numerous times that he’s really proud of the way that Mohanji works. And it’s because Mohanji doesn’t take nonsense, he’s full-action.

Devi Amma also said that Sai Baba had told her to say this. And she was very, very proud.

Now, obviously, I’m somewhat naive, and so I asked, “What do you mean he physically appeared – like in front of her, like as you’re sitting in front of me now?” And he told me, “No, no, it’s in an energy form, the same way that other people around the world feel Mohanji’s presence from time to time. And it’s the subtlest visible as the gross can perceive”. So Devi Amma probably could see a lot, but the Germans might not have been able to see, but they would have felt the presence. And apparently, he spoke a lot about Mohanji. And that’s why Devi Amma really wanted to connect, to tell Mohanji about this.

And so for Mohanji as well, he was saying that he really appreciates it coming from Devi Amma because when all of the people were talking bad things about him, she was the one that supported him. And she said that’s because it was her duty.

He shared as well something of the time before (I think 2014) when Mohanji suffered a really big attack, and many people were out to tarnish his image. And he asked Devi Amma, “Why is all this happening? Is there something I’m doing wrong?” And it was really, quite a difficult situation. And although he’d never spoken to Agastya before, he really wanted to this time because he was disturbed. And he told her that a group of people had turned against him, cut off his money, spoke tremendously bad things, and his partner took away the company. Mohanji just wanted to know if there was something wrong he was doing and if there was, then what lesson he should learn.

So at that time (2014), she had a discussion with Sage Agastya, and the next day, she and Mohanji met. She relayed what Agastya had said, saying: “I’m really proud of Mohanji; he is my son. Why this is happening is because I have to remove certain things from him. People are not letting him grow. They’re not letting him do his job or progress. And he has a big job to do on Earth. And some of these people are very small-minded, and they’re not allowing him to take steps forward”. So he (Agastya) had to take them off his path.

And when she asked what lessons he should learn, Agastya said, “No lessons for him. He came accomplished in this life, and he has nothing to learn in this life. He only has to reveal, and he will reveal at his time”. And then he said, “They have to learn, the people with him (including us), because he is sent by us to bring people back to the Satya Yuga, to raise their awareness sufficiently to enter into that Satya Yuga frequency. So they have to learn, not him. And if they can’t handle him, it’s not his problem. It’s their problem”.

So there was the answer. And I can see a big resemblance to Mohanji there in style. And if Mohanji is the son of Agastya, then – like father, like son – no beating around the bush, straight to the point.

That’s the story from yesterday. I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope you enjoy the day ahead. Speak to you soon.

Lessons living with Mohanji – Day 4

profile

Day 4 lesson: Who is Mohanji?

By Christopher Greenwood

Introduction

I ask myself this question from time to time. I ask myself because the more time I spend with Mohanji, the less I know. Trying to understand Mohanji is like trying to hold water in a clenched fist. I honestly don’t think it’s possible to understand Mohanji until we become him, and I could record many messages on this topic.

Today, I wanted to pose this question to all of you – Who is Mohanji? I also wanted to give you a sense of who he is from what I can see in front of me.

Without a doubt, Mohanji is Mohanji. We cannot compare him with anyone else living now, or anyone else who lived before. His relevance to the world is now, and he is active in many ways. I can only perceive the terrestrial dimension of Mohanji, but I know from listening to the experiences of others who can see the subtle work that he is active in many ways. There are many testimonials from people about that. One day, we may be able to piece this jigsaw together to understand truly.

Additional Message

Yesterday, he reminded me that everyone who connects with him is well protected and looked after and that we should always stand by those who we love and who love us, no matter what, especially during these challenging times.

Good morning, everybody. I hope you’re doing really well. This morning, I wanted to start with a question. And this question is, who is Mohanji?

Now, you can probably take some time to think about that. And I’m sure, if we were sharing our insights in a discussion, Mohanji would be different for all of us. Ever since I started living with him, managing his time, calendar, schedule, etc., it’s evident that people connect to Mohanji in many different ways, and see him in many different varieties. And for me personally, it’s something that I ask myself from time to time; who is this man called Mohanji? And I can honestly say that the more time I spend with him, the less I know. And that’s a fact. I’ll explain that.

Mohanji himself is very clear about who he is. He is Mohanji, and that’s it. He’s a friend to the world, and he’s not in competition with anybody. He’s not trying to be anybody else. His job is simply to be available to people. He’s definitely not asking anybody to worship him. I’ve been here with Mohanji every day for seven months now; I can say that with full confidence.

And actually, he’s pretty self-sufficient. I mean, we all brought him here, and we bring him food, tea, and that type of thing. But actually, he doesn’t need anybody; he’d be quite able to function on his own. And from morning till night, in fact, sometimes probably also through the night, he’s responding to people. He is guiding them; he’s helping them. And he’s giving clarity. And when he gives advice, there’s absolute clarity; it covers the length, the height, the width, the breadth, everything.

An example of that was when Ammucare had a campaign to raise money to buy a bicycle for an ice-cream seller. The man was the sole provider for his family. He had children, he had a wife and was selling ice cream from a small wooden box, and he was getting old and having to haul it around. So they wanted to buy him one of those bicycles with a refrigerator box on top of it, and they were raising money.

So, I gave some money for this, and I happened to say to Mohanji in a conversation ‘Oh this came up, I gave some money’. He responded, “Did you think more about it?” As I watched him, he said, “Did you think more about what would really help that family?” I didn’t quite understand. He said he heard about this, and he contacted the team to provide clothes for the women in the family, some education for the kids, and support, food and materials for the wife and the house. I couldn’t believe that really. Not only did he consider that this man was under a lot of stress, (he had this box, he needed a bike so he could do more of his work), but he recognised the fact that if the stress of the family situation wasn’t removed, it would be incredibly difficult for him to start anew and get going.

So Mohanji took away all that step by step, making sure there’s education, making sure there’s food, making sure there are clothes. So, when he sees a situation, he looks at everything. It’s incredible! I hope one day, my vision can expand to include all those types of things.

And he is humble, as well. He’s very stable. He’s like a rock; no matter what situation arises, no matter what happens, he is unflinching. One of the things which I really admire in Mohanji is that he stands by people, and he lives what he says, “Never let go of those that you love, and that love you. Stand by them no matter what.” And he does do this.

As I schedule his time and appointments, I can see that he’s fully benevolent, day in day out. He is here for the world. In fact, the only things I’ve seen him take for himself during the day are two modest meals, some fruits in the afternoon, and maybe some tea in the morning. Apart from that, he’s always giving.

My interactions with Mohanji are very practical; he’s like a mentor to me. I haven’t had many visions or elaborate spiritual experiences, and my focus is really business-oriented. So, he gives me fantastic advice from the business point of view. At one point, he was running five countries for a shipping company. Thus, he had a vision, leadership skills and management skills, and that’s what we’re bringing into the corporate program that we’re developing to take to companies from the Foundation.

When Mohanji and I talk, I know that in the periphery, much more is happening from Mohanji. For example, as I’m speaking with him, Mai-Tri sessions are happening worldwide with his presence; Mohanji Transformation Method (MTM) is taking place, where he’s doing immense work, even clearing whole lineages for people. Some people have even messaged to say that they’ve felt his presence in their homes. All this happens as I sit in front of him in conversation, and he relays messages to me. So, even though he’s there, I can see him in front of me, he is everywhere else as well at the same time.

Deep down, I know that when I’m sitting next to him, and when I’m looking at him, when I look into his eyes, inside my heart, I feel that here in front of me is someone or some presence that is established in something much higher than I could ever know or comprehend, at this point of time.

And how do I know that? Well, I can only speak from my own experience since being connected to him; I know from my own transformation. Because I’d say, I’m completely different now than two years ago. And how do I know? It’s quite easy when I look back and say what I’ve lost. I’ve lost anger. Rarely do I have jealousy now. I no longer hate anyone. All the grudges that I had have dissolved; all those hangovers of relationships have long gone now. I’ve also lost some blindness, having lived quite an insensitive life before, treating people poorly, even eating meat and causing suffering to animals. So, so many things.

So now, I know there’s something there, which I can’t tangibly see, but I just try and keep it very simple for myself. I know, and others have told me that it can be very easy to be misled by Mohanji as the form, a walking, eating, talking, sleeping, pooping being rather than what he actually is or what he represents.

So, I try to do simple things, which many people have advised before as well. I follow the basics; that’s having faith and patience. I think that’s what Sai Baba said, as well: a strong conviction that the guru whom you are learning from knows what’s right for your journey, as he’s a reflection of your inner self. And I don’t expect much or ask for anything personal in nature because I know that if I’m asking for something, it’s probably coming from my mind, and it’s what the mind needs, rather than what he can truly give me. You know, it’s like asking for a tuk-tuk when he can truly give you a Rolls Royce. The best gift I can give him is to try and live the teachings as best as I can. Those are the simple rules that I try and follow so that I don’t get too misled by the form that’s in front of me.

I know many other people connect to him in different ways. I think we classify them in roughly four groups. So, firstly, you have the people who are connected through Bhakti and devotion. They worship through songs, drawings, paintings; it’s really an emotional heart connection. Then, the Jnana people – connect to his knowledge and his teachings. Thirdly, the Karma Yoga people – connect to serving and his activities which he’s doing in the world. Finally, there are the Raja Yogis – those connected deeply to his consciousness.

So, Mohanji is Mohanji. And, he said to me that he’s not a person. If we think of him as a person, we’re missing out on a lot. Because he’s the Tradition, he’s a living projection of the Tradition of Liberation. All Masters in one, yet very distinctly Mohanji. And that’s his relevance in the world. And he cares and loves everyone that’s connected to him. And he protects them all.

A few months back, I wanted to start reading Sripada Srivallabha Charitamrutam. And before I did, I asked for Mohanji’s blessing. He said to me: ‘Oh, it’s good, good that you’re reading that. You’ll understand me more after reading.’ So I thought: ‘Oh, great. I’ll learn something more about Mohanji.’ And I read the book. And it’s incredible; it’s a fantastic book. I advise anyone who has the interest to read it. It’s the story of the first incarnation of Dattatreya.

However, after reading that book, I can confidently say that I know about Mohanji less than I did before reading it. And day-to-day, I know even less.

So that’s the message for today. I hope it reaches you well, and I hope you have a great day ahead.

Divine guidance

Mohanji eyes closed

Priti shares with us a beautiful testimonial of Guru’s loving grace in times of pain and difficulties which she experienced when her niece Monika was very unwell.

By Priti Bhardwaj, UK

Just a little background to Monika’s story that I would like to share here as I feel tremendously grateful to our beloved Mohanji and Guru Mandala for the grace and blessings they have bestowed on her personal journey so far, and am sure will do so beyond her time here.

Mohanji and the Nath Gurus have played such an important part in Monika and her family’s life in the last 2 to 3 years without them even knowing, and this is the ultimate unconditional love Mohanji and the Masters have for all! Incredible grace comes – just a sincere prayer brought the Masters of the Tradition to this family! (The family are not into spirituality or religious in anyway).

Two years ago, Monika and her boyfriend, who was driving at that time, were hit by a car that went into their side passenger side. Monika was unfortunately badly injured; her boyfriend suffered minor shoulder issues. Monika was told she may not walk and will have to wear a metal neck and back brace for a long time as there were serious spinal injuries. This was devastating news as Monika was a party person and it was very difficult for her to even sit in one place.

Mohanji sent me as the first person to see her in hospital after the crash. Immediately I was guided to ask for Mai-Tri for her and prayers were performed thru the Global Prayers Whatsapp group, which was kindly heard by the grace of the divine energies. Monika continued to improve to the point that she actually started walking and attending work after four months, and she was even able to attend some parties.

I feel now with hindsight a very serious incident/accident was averted at that juncture; such is the grace of the Masters because she had unfinished agendas here on Earth. This, I believe, was extra time given to her, so she could spend time and make amends with her family and friends as 18 months later she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Amazing that she recovered from the car accident but unbelievable that this illness was diagnosed.

Again, Mohanji sent me to her, and I was guided immediately to seek Mai-Tri for her. This was performed within three months during the initial Spring lock-down and hospital delays. Monika’s cancer became aggressive. At the same time, Monika’s Dad suffered a stroke and is still in a convalescence home as he can hardly walk or eat solids. Calamity after calamity, but the grace of the Masters was always there. Grace comes when you have faith in the Master.

Monika, her family, relations and  friends became incredibly close, united in looking  after her with  limitless love and care making her every waking moment full of love which I believe kept her going. Couple of times the doctors would say that she only had 72 hours to live, however, the love that she was receiving from all 4 corners of the world and her strong will  to live till her last breath gave her extra moments with all her loved ones. Time and time again, despite all the painful treatments and the callousness of the cancer spreading, growing rapidly throughout her body, she did not give up smiling and greeting the umpteen visitors  who came to see her. She was always surrounded by bountiful of flowers wishing her well…..

After a couple of months of Monika having operations, chemo and radiotherapy to treat the illness, she gradually became worse. This time it was Subhasree who saw my messages requesting for prayers for both. Subhasree, despite a gruelling backlog of work immediately gave Monika Mai-Tri. In fact, by this stage MTM (Mohanji Transformation Method) was given, a deeper level of the Mai-Tri Method. This was indeed an honour and again, Mohanji’s grace! A deep trauma had led to this cancer. Mohanji completely cleaned the entire trash that had caused it. Mohanji does his job!

I was also guided to ask Mahesh to perform a Guru Raksha Homa for Monika’s family at the Mohanji Datta Tapovan Ashram in Canada, and certain Pujas were carried out in India during initial lockdown which lasted 7 hours despite strict curfews and shop rationing… all Mohanji’s grace!

During my many trips up to Birmingham to see Monika, on one occasion, we slept very late as the family were interested in knowing how and why these illnesses occur, so by the time I put my head down it was 3 am but couldn’t sleep as had a very strong urge to connect Monika (who was in the hospital at that time having a hip op as cancer had spread there) to Shirdi Sai Baba and give her Udi, but didn’t know how to do this…. Towards the end of the morning all my attempts trying to plan how to introduce Mohanji/Sai Baba to Monika turned out to be in vain, so I surrendered the whole thing to Mohanji and tried to sleep.

An hour later, I heard noises coming from downstairs. My sister-in-law walked in from the cold front doorstep. I asked her where she had been so early, and her answer amazed me and almost knocked me over.

mohanji sai

She said her eyebrow threading lady who was a Sai devotee had called her early in the morning and told her Sai Baba had instructed her to tell my sister-in-law to go to the local temple and take some sweets to Baba and leave it at his lotus feet with a prayer and some change for Sai Baba to look after Monika. Can you believe how my late night thoughts and prayers actually transpired and became a reality. But even there grace flowed, when my sister in law went to purchase the sweets the shutter to the shop was closed, due to open 3 hours later. As she stood outside the shop thinking where to get some of these Indian sweets, the shop shutter opened, and the shop keeper let her buy the goods. Amazing right?!

We also managed to get Manasarovar and Gauri Kund water to Monika, who was a complete non-believer in these things. (There’s always several deeper reasons as to why we go to far off places like Manasarovar and Gauri Kund – sacred waters came from my pilgrimage to Kailash with Mohanji 2019.) That too was pure grace.

Despite a being a non-believer, Monika was beginning to recite the Gayatri mantra, and the whole family were starting to see life from a positive angle rather than the gross negativeness. Is this Mohanji doing his magic? Yes!

Monika was an amazing fighter or maybe that Mai-Tri prevented her from feeling the worst of the pain. Whenever she was asked if she had pain, she said, no! She didn’t want to die in a hospital on her own and did what she could to avoid this. Her wish to come home came true every time.

I saw her couple of days ago although she was drugged up heavily on morphine and was breathless, we sang songs and my daughters, and I danced to her favourite songs from the late 90s (once a party person always a party person).

With the grace of our Guru, she died peacefully, and I am sure she is being guided as we speak to the light. Rest in Peace, my darling Monika. I love you.

Thank you all for your prayers and wishes.

The tune of grace

By Ketan Patel, Canada

Today, I am going to share with you the story of ‘Brahmarishi Mohanji, Sadgurunatha Mohanji’ song, and how it was given to me by the grace of my Guru Shree Brahmarishi Mohanji. Before I share the story, I would like to share about how my journey started with Mohanji in August 2014 when he came to Canada for the first time.

I received an email from one of my friends about Mohanji’s visit to Canada. At that point in time, I was following Shree Shirdi Sai Baba and considered him as my Guru. I was adamant at first not to go and meet another Guru and I thought that why should I go and meet another Guru when I already had one! But that was not what happened! Some hidden power compelled me to read about who Mohanji was, so I googled about him. As soon as I read about him, I changed my decision and decided to go and have his darshan. When I first saw him, I immediately bent and touched his feet. I felt as if I had known him from the past. We had a satsang with Mohanji in a Hindu temple. That was my solo meeting with him for that year as I could not attend the rest of the programs because I had to rush to India to see my ailing mother.

Since 2014, Mohanji has visited Canada every year and I have had the opportunity to meet him and have his blessings every time. At the end of 2016, I applied for Consciousness Kriya and in 2017, I got my Kriya initiation from Mohanji.

One day, when I was doing my Kriya, I felt a strong connection with Mohanji. As soon as my Kriya was completed, I went and bowed down to Mohanji’s picture, then went to bow to Shree Sainath Maharaj’s idol that I have on my altar. Suddenly, without my knowing, I started humming the first few lines of the Brahmarishi Mohanji song and I had tears in my eyes out of love for him. Manisha, my wife who was in another room at that time, heard it and inquired as to what it was?! At that instance, I realized that I was singing a song for Mohanji. The matter ended there. However, it became a regular practice for me to sing that song every day and especially when I used to go for a bath. Till that time, it was only the first stanza. I have never written or composed a song, and nor have I any writing abilities to do that.

One evening, I had connected my music system on and was singing the same song on the mic. Manisha recorded it on her phone without my knowledge and sent it to Rajesh Kamath. Rajesh played it for Mohanji who received my offering with so much love. This was then shared with the Global family group. That’s how the whole Canada team got to know about it. I was asked to write more stanzas. I was not ready to do that as I thought I would not be able to do justice to it. The very next day, I was able to write the rest of the stanzas. I was under the impression that I had to do the work, instead, it was done by the grace of the Guru and I was just an instrument.

I got the message that Mohanji had asked to get it recorded in a studio. I started my efforts to find a studio that could help me with the music and recording. My friend Sanjay Acharya had recorded his songs for Mohanji with the help of a person in Delhi. He gave me the contact of that person and I got my music composed with that person. Somehow it took so long to get everything done and the song could not get recorded until 2020.

In 2020, I went to India to see my father who was on his deathbed. That was the same time when the Girnar retreat was planned. I felt unfortunate as I could not attend it nor could I meet Mohanji in India as I had to be with my father in his last moments. While in Vadodara, my hometown, with the help of my friend who is a filmmaker, I tried to find a studio for recording the song. He took me to a studio called Rishabh Recording Studio.

I gave my music track to the recordist and he set up everything to start the recording. I was a little nervous as it was the first professional recording that I was doing in my life. I was praying to Mohanji to help me through the process. Suddenly, I saw a photo frame of Shree Rang Avadhoot Maharaj on the recordist’s desk.

Shree Rang Avadhoot Maharaj

Shree Rang Avadhoot Maharaj is a disciple of Shree Vasudevan Saraswati (Tembe Swami), who is a Datta Avatar. I was happy that the Guru Mandala was with me, the whole lineage was with me, and my Guru Mohanji was with me!

I went into the recording cabin, happy that at last, I was going to be able to record my song. The music track started playing and I started singing the song. All of a sudden, the recordist halted the process and spoke to me about Mohanji. He inquired, “Who is this Mohanji?” I told him, “He is my Guru.” The next surprising question was, “Did he go to Girnar recently?” I said, “Yes there was a retreat in Girnar and Mohanji had visited the Datta Temple in Girnar.” Now, see the grace of Guru, Srirang Soni (the recordist) happened to be a friend of Ananth from Australia and had helped Ananth with arrangements for the Girnar retreat. From then on everything became smooth. He was amicable. The whole process of recording the song was finished in almost half an hour with a couple of retakes. After that, I came out to his desk and we had a friendly chat with each other.

I was able to present the song to Mohanji on his birthday as a small gift to him. In this whole process, nothing was done by me. The whole play was of Mohanji’s. The song was written by him, composed by him and sung by him. I was just an instrument. Such is the grace of Guru. He works through you for you! It is indeed a bagful of past good karma which brings a Guru of such magnanimous stature in your life. Shree Brahmrishi Mohanji is such a Guru. I am so fortunate to be with him. Thank you Mohanji, for being with me!

Kumbh Mela 2019 with Mohanji – a dream comes true

kumbh1

by a devotee, India

Kumbh Mela was always a dream since childhood and to be able to attend this someday was indeed a big milestone in my life. Due to the grace of the Tradition, I had the opportunity of doing my first Kumbh in the year 2015 in Nasik with Mohanji and again in 2019 in Prayag. I had read about the Kumbh in Prayag in the book ‘The Autobiography of a Yogi’. I would imagine the visuals of how it would be to be there in person but never knew one day I would physically attend one.

Since the time ‘Kumbh with Mohanji’ was announced, I was eagerly looking forward to this yatra (pilgrimage). However, to complete this desire I went through a lot of hurdles for months. Amidst all the circumstances when my wish was fulfilled, I realised that it was purely my Guru Mohanji’s grace which makes sure that all our wishes and desires are fulfilled.

In August 2018, my grandma (94 years of age) had a fall and fractured her hip. Following surgery, her health condition required our full-time care for her. At the same time, I also came to know of a close relative’s wedding planned for February 2019, exactly coinciding with the dates of the Kumbh Mela pilgrimage.

kumbh19_pic 12

My hopes of doing Kumbh with Mohanji in Prayag came shattering down. Needless to say that I was disappointed but surrendered to my Guru and consoled myself that maybe this was not the time for me. A few days later, I had an early morning dream where I share with Mohanji my desire to attend the Kumbh. Soon after, I heard that the wedding had been advanced by a month and that meant it would have been completed before the Kumbh Mela pilgrimage. I was taken aback and knew that Mohanji had heard me. Although I was elated at the chance of doing the Kumbh with Mohanji, I was still unsure if I could surely make it, as my granny was bedridden and still needed our full-time care.

As the months progressed, we had some more issues in the family front, losing some close relatives. There was a lot of grief and sadness in the family. Amidst all this, I still had the desire to do the Kumbh which got rekindled when I happened to speak with Preethi Gopalarathnam one day in Dec 2018. When I expressed my deep desire to attend the Kumbh Mela with Mohanji to my dad, he encouraged me. Finally, by the end of Dec 2018, I booked my place on the pilgrimage.

Just before starting my journey, one day while caring for my granny and brushing her teeth, she bit my finger hard which later developed into an infection. I noticed swelling and heaviness in my finger accompanied by pain. The doctor put me on antibiotics right away. Normally I am a hyper person but was very cool about this situation. I wasn’t sure if I would get any medical aid at a place like Kumbh but with Mohanji’s grace all was taken care of and I received the required care by the medical facilities available at the Parmarth Niketan camp where we stayed.

Kumbh 2019 Abhisekam for Mohanji

Mohanji had even made sure that my travel to Kumbh was taken care of. I had the amazing company of two sisters travelling from South Africa during my train journey from Mumbai.

Even when our train was delayed, we had help from strangers who guided us to get down at the right station. Despite issues with local commuting, we finally arrived at our destination safe and sound. I was so amazed to realise how well Mohanji took care at every step making the journey comfortable and making my dream come true.

Immense gratitude to Mohanji for everything that he does for us. My journey to Kumbh was only possible because of his grace. Now I would like to rewind a bit and share what I was going through during the time of the plan to the Kumbh Mela.

I was going through a lot of emotional and mental issues since the end of Dec 2015. My mind kept telling me that everyone around me disliked me. I felt unwanted and I felt that I should keep away from everyone. I went through this negative phase for a long time, alienating myself from those around me. These thoughts were empowering and seemed to be so real. These thoughts were eating me up. I remembered during the Pune retreat, Mohanji telling me that I was possessed by entities, but at that time I did not understand what he meant. It was only during Khumb while listening to someone else’s experience, I could relate to the phase I underwent.

mohanji-quote-the-only-way

I did many pilgrims/retreats with Mohanji while going through this phase. It was only after the Bosnia retreat, I noticed a transformation in myself and thoughts became more positive.

Right from the first time I met Mohanji, I was unable to speak with him freely, the way others do. I would become tongue-tied when in front of him. I would want to say a lot to him but when in front of him I would get nervous and go blank. A part of me kept telling me I am not worthy to be in his presence and should maintain a distance. Maybe he does not want me to be near him. Hence many times I have lost opportunities of being in his proximity. It is much easier to talk to his picture or communicate with him mentally.

After one such trip to Kurnool, I felt that Mohanji was avoiding me and ignoring me. Every time I met him I would hope that he talks to me like he does with others. Even this time I was hoping he would talk to me, take notice of me. Now when I look back, these thoughts seem so silly.

After this background, now fast forward to the Kumbh.

As mentioned earlier I had hurt my finger and was hoping that at least once Mohanji would enquire about it. Finally, on the day of the homa when my turn came to do pranams to Mohanji (at first I felt he wouldn’t speak with me but he did), he enquired about my finger and made fun of it (I loved him pulling my leg) but as usual, despite wanting to reply, I just kept murmuring as I was unable to speak. But I was happy with the thought that he spoke with me.

Throughout the Kumbh, I had a burning desire to ask Mohanji if he was upset with me, why he ignored me and wanted to apologize to him if knowingly or unknowingly I had hurt him. I also wanted to thank him for all that he had done for me. I had put in a request if I could meet him for a few minutes so that I may convey my apologies to him. Then we were told that he will not be doing one on one meeting but would meet people in groups of 4. Now, I just didn’t know what to say to him in front of others. As usual, I was feeling very nervous before meeting him and was going blank. When I met him, I expressed my gratitude to him with tears in my eyes and got my bracelet and paduka blessed by him. I was finding it very difficult to speak to him. He mentioned to our group that the dip he had with our group was the best amongst the three dips and that he did a lot of mental and spiritual cleansing along with a lot of cleansing for ancestors for some. I somehow managed to tell him that after the Bosnia retreat, the panic attacks that I had been suffering from had stopped. Since returning from Bosnia, I had got these attacks only twice, but the intensity was much less. Earlier, I would choke when I got these attacks, gasp for breath along with spells of giddiness. Mohanji said that he did a lot of cleansing this time.

Kumbh

I remembered that during the Kailash Yatra, it was easy for me to take more than 10-15 dips in the freezing water of Mansarovar lake, but at the Kumbh, after Mohanji poured water on me thrice, I was gripped with the fear of not being able to take the dips. I was shaking with fear and was in tears and then Preethi Gopalarathnam helped me take the dips. Thanks to her I managed to take 5-6 dips. I don’t know what this was but now when I look back, I realise it must have been the cleansing that he did.

After an exhilarating Kumbh trip, we left early in the morning for the Varanasi airport. We had an afternoon flight to catch but keeping the traffic in mind, we left early. At the airport, I connected with a participant with whom I hardly interacted throughout the trip. It was 3 of us sharing our experiences. It was then I understood the significance of sharing experiences and why Mohanji emphasizes on the same. I got answers to many questions that were bothering me. I realized that I was not the only one who was getting these thoughts of being ignored. Others have also felt the same. I was surprised at myself for the answers I came up with for questions such as why I felt Mohanji was ignoring me. I realized it was he who was talking and not me. I was just the medium. He gave replies to my queries through me and that too in the presence of those who felt the same. Many more thoughts that were common with others were cleared.

Since my return from the pilgrimage, I feel my awareness level has increased. I only pray that this is a permanent transformation and not temporary. Only time will tell. For me, the Kumbh experience was more about understanding myself and my thoughts. I feel more positive now. I feel I am more accepting of others and I am not holding on to the past. All thanks to Baba and Mohanji for their grace. Immense gratitude to the Masters of our Tradition.

Protection in peril

I am with you

By Giselle Mehta, India

Two narrow escapes from certain hazards in a very short period reinforce the assurance of a loving connection and potent protection from Mohanji.

The first episode occurred earlier this month on November the 8th. We had come to our beach home which is a weekend getaway, some driving distance from our city residence. We had carried our food along, and as it was being warmed, there was a sudden short circuit affecting the heating devices.

Our caretaker warned us of some kind of an explosion in the electric pole outside the gate causing the electricity to fail. The probable reason was shoddy work by the local electricity board as a stop-gap measure for an earlier problem during the fierce monsoon. We didn’t obsess about it, merely switching on the inverter for alternate power supply.

After dinner, we headed upstairs to our rooms to retire for the night. We dropped off to sleep but were woken up by a call from our daughter who studies and lives elsewhere. Having woken up, my husband decided to check on our visually impaired dog Sunday (the subject of a previous protective episode I’ve shared) and headed downstairs to bring him up.

There was a strong odour of smoke in the downstairs space. After some searching, he realized that the inverter under the staircase was the cause. With the caretaker’s help, potentially disastrous combustion was prevented and brought under control.

“Grace protects you, it does not stop an event.” – Mohanji

Had the call not come at the time it did or the dog not stayed downstairs, we would have continued to sleep undisturbed upstairs. The consequences can only be imagined for us and the house, but the right circumstances averted catastrophe with fortuitous timing. Amazingly, an Eye Card carried in my bag was a couple of feet away from the burning inverter.

A few weeks earlier, the Guru Raksha Homa was performed for our family’s protection. In the intervening period, my husband had the uncanny experience of the Eye Card adhering to his third eye area defying gravity for the entire duration of his Kriya that day – a huge sign of a living Master’s presence and protection.

I was unaware of what had transpired; sleeping through till my husband shared the details when we were on the road the next day. A bus passed by. I normally never look into the interiors of other vehicles but my eyes were inexplicably drawn to a large Sai Baba picture on its dashboard. Truly, one was offered perspective and a sense of grateful wonderment for the benevolent power of the Guru Mandala and Mohanjias its living embodiment.

The following Friday, we were on a road trip from out of town. On the way, my eyes rested in appreciation on a large lifelike white stone sculpture of Sai Baba seated on a rock, bringing in its wake loving thoughts of Mohanji and a connection to his consciousness.

gratitude

Our 7-hour plus journey commenced in the late afternoon and darkness descended on the terrain rather fast. I dozed off with anti-nausea medication for the rigours of the winding journey. My husband was negotiating the curves of the mountain road on his own without my usually vigilant back-up.

Fatigued with crammed activities from the days before, he apparently dozed off at the wheel on a highly hazardous route, something that has never happened before. But he did wake up with a sense of shock, feeling saved from the possibility of a very serious accident should our car have slammed into another vehicle or overshot the road and toppled down the steep mountainside.

Again, I blissfully slept through the episode. He said nothing about it except to demand that music be played to keep him awake. We reached home safe. The next morning I had a message from Maheshji of Mohanji Canada asking if all was good on our side. I conveyed it to my husband who then came out with the frightful occurrence of what I had slept through, awash with gratitude for the benign presence that seemingly woke him up in the nick of time.

Bosnia
Bosnia Kriya Intensive

This time, I mused I didn’t even have the Eye Card around because that was in another handbag. On unpacking, later on, I was surprised to find one of our booklets of Kriya vows that had stayed in the suitcase since the Kriya Intensive in Bosnia and had accompanied us on this perilous ride.

Once again, words fail and the overflowing heart takes over…

flow with life

The M-powering Masters

M and Sai

By Aditya Nagpal

One evening, after doing Mohanji Aarati, I got a very strong thought to go to Shirdi. It was late in the evening and I thought it might not be a good idea to start at that time. But the thought was so strong that I was forced to book a bus and leave. Within one hour I was on a bus to Shirdi.

Aditya doing seva

It is a 12-hour journey from Hyderabad to Shirdi. I reached Shirdi the next morning and checked into a hotel which I had booked while travelling. I had learned that one of our Mohanji Family member-Jyoti Bahl was also visiting Shirdi the same day. I went into my room and freshened up, As I came out, Jyotiji was in front of me, and she recognized me as I was wearing a Mohanji Foundation Kurta! This was the first time we met but I could feel the connection with her, being from the ‘M’ Family. We had a small conversation and decided to meet later. After eating something, I went for Samadhi Darshan.

oneself quote

When I returned to the hotel, I sat in the Ahimsa Vegan café (a vegan café inaugurated by Mohanji). Jyotiji also arrived there, and we started sharing experiences of Mohanji and Sai Baba. While Jyotiji was narrating her experiences, I could feel her devotion and deep connection to Baba. Her bhakti bhaav (devotion) is so strong, that it took me into a different mode altogether and I started feeling a deep state of bliss, as if Baba was filling me up. After that I wanted to spend more time with her and listen to her experiences. Luckily, I went to Dwarkamai with her. Throughout the way, she spoke only about Baba, as if the rest of the world does not exist and only Baba exists. As she was narrating with unbelievably intense bhaav (emotion), I was going deeper and deeper into a bliss state. I was already having the feeling that this visit to Shirdi was the most powerful to date, and would take my faith and devotion to another level. But wait! There was more to come.

I learnt from Jyotiji that they were visiting Meher Baba’s Samadhi the next morning. I did not know anything about Meher Baba, but wanted to accompany them. So the following day, I went to the Meher Baba Samadhi with them. As I entered the place, I felt a deep connection, and silence started settling within me. At the Samadhi, we had to form a queue, and go in one by one into the Samadhi room. When my turn arrived, I went in and prostrated at Baba’s feet. As I got up, I felt a change within myself immediately. I just wanted to sit there and meditate but there was no space as people were already sitting around the Samadhi.  Luckily, a place got vacated soon, and I sat inside in meditation. I went into a deep state of bliss and silence like never before. It was the most intense meditation I have ever had. During the meditation, I felt the strong presence of Mohanji guiding me and instructing me. I wanted to meditate for a very long time there, but we had limited time and had to leave for Shirdi. As I came out, I learned from Jyotiji that Mohanji has visited Meher Baba’s place and she showed me a picture of Him standing near the Samadhi. I understood then why I had felt such a strong presence of Mohanji, and why I was brought there by Mohanji. Given the time constraint, we had to leave for Shirdi, but throughout the way, I felt deeply connected to the Divine: there were hardly any thoughts and nothing else mattered. This was the most wonderful experience I had ever had in Shirdi , and remember, it was totally unplanned from my side.  But wait! There was still more to come!

reality quote

Throughout the trip, Jyotiji was with me and I was totally mesmerized by her love and devotion. I wanted to spend more time with her and requested her to take me with her for Samadhi darshan, which she lovingly accepted. We went for Darshan and as always, Jyotiji kept talking about Baba and Mohanji and inside the temple, told me stories of Baba which I did not know. I was again taken into a state where there was only Baba and me, and nothing else existed. While we were talking, Jyotiji told me to read Shri Sai Satcharitra. I had started reading this previously, but discontinued it because of time constraints, and had not managed to complete it. Maybe this was a signal from Baba to start reading it again. Jyotiji took me to the Parayan hall (place inside the temple where people read books on Sai Baba) and told me to start reading again there. We went in, took the book and occupied places randomly. I hadn’t opened the book yet, and was just looking at it. Jyotiji told me to keep the book to my heart, think about Baba and open any page randomly. Keeping the book to my heart, I prayed to Baba to bless each and every soul and, placing my hand inside the book randomly, I opened it.  It seemed a miracle to me that it opened at the very next page to the one where I had discontinued reading previously!  It was the beginning of a new Chapter in Shri Sai Satcharitra that I was supposed to continue from. With deep love and gratitude, I completed that chapter and decided to read it daily from then on.

If this was not enough, I also unexpectedly got involved in Annadhan (food donation service) arranged by our beloved Mohanji Family members near the Samadhi Mandir of Baba. This was like the icing on the cake! I felt like I had jumped into a river of Grace and it was taking me effortlessly into bliss!

I was having the most amazing trip to Shirdi. Each moment was transformative. I was wondering how an unplanned trip like this could be so transformative. But was it actually unplanned? Here is my answer: Mohanji had arranged it for me. When we were back in the Ahimsa Vegan Cafe and started sharing experiences again, I learnt from Jyotiji that she was with Mohanji the day before arriving in Shirdi- the same day that I got a strong urge to visit Shirdi. I believe Mohanji sent Jyotiji to create this experience for me. I do not know how to express my gratitude to my beloved Mohanji for all that he does for us. This experience has taken my faith and connection for Mohanji to a different level altogether, and made me understand how Mohanji and Sai Baba are one and same.

When I started following Mohanji, I did not know much about Sai Baba. But gradually, I developed a deep interest and love for Baba and became an ardent devotee of Baba. With my limited understanding, I could not comprehend how this connection with Baba was initiated and intensified by the grace of Mohanji. It cannot be a coincidence that the first time ever I visited a Sai Baba temple, was with Mohanji.  It is hard to describe in words how blessed we are that Sai Baba is living with us through our Master- Mohanji. We still have Baba physically present with us as Mohanji. We must have gained a lot of merits in our past lives to be in his divine presence. Can we get any luckier? Can we ask for anything more?

Sai and M

We cannot comprehend how our Master works on us, how he takes us to the right place at the right time and to meet the right people. We are always fine at his lotus feet. We never miss anything, but we get the right thing at the right time, as per our capacity. This amazing transformative experience was made possible by the grace of our beloved Mohanji. I bow down at his lotus feet, and I am always secure at his lotus feet.

I also owe deep gratitude to Jyoti Bahl for being an amazing instrument of the Tradition and for helping me have these experiences.
