Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 71 & 72

by Christopher Greenwood

Day 71 Lesson – The bus is moving

This morning is quick packing again for the next location. We will now be making our way back towards Palakkad, Kerala, for the Shirdi Sai Baba Pratishta Dinam function on the 25th, 26th, and 27th of January.

Yesterday was a really interesting day for me. We’ve been doing a lot of activities again (the same as every other day, right from early mornings until late at night, the day is full of activities). It started in the morning with a visit to a land which somebody had gifted to Mohanji. It was a beautiful sight to behold (location – very remote); at the moment, there’s a coconut plantation there as far as the eyes can see. Something really unique is being planned for that piece of land; I’m excited to see that come to fruition.

Mohanji has been visiting places and connecting with people, and there is a real momentum coming together for something really good in the future. The pace, as I’ve mentioned before, is very quick; it’s very intense. There’s no time to take some rest or to take it easy or for lethargy to creep in.

I was thinking about this a little bit more this morning because, for me, it’s almost as if the travel that I’ve been able to join Mohanji in is a micro version of the macro version, which is – movement has to happen when you’re with Mohanji. There’s no time to be dwelling on what has been or what might come. It’s now. It really is living in the moment now, being aware of everything.

As we’re moving so quickly, everything has to be organized; everything has to be in its place, and we have to be prepared. If I let a little bit of tightness or lethargy creep in, or maybe don’t have things ready, it can be a rush to catch up again. If I’m not completely aware of what we’ll be doing, then it’s very difficult to continue the rest of the day. There’s a bit of a destabilization, so to stay stable and to be able to do my other work, everything has to be in order – in the right place at the right time.

As Mohanji moves through the day, this is the observation that I have: there’s no real discussion of where we are going next to make sure you are prepared and have everything needed. You’re expected to be aware of what’s happening. He just moves; he goes. It will just be as quick as, “Okay, we’re going here now; this is happening now.” You have to be ready to move with that as well quickly. There’s no, “Okay, give me 10 minutes; I’ll be ready in that time.” You have to be ready then, and you’re going – it’s fast-paced.

I was thinking, the lesson that I took from this morning is – this is probably a smaller version of his general direction, his pace, and also his destination. Mohanji has always said, “That at any point in time if things become too much, or you want to go back, no problem, you’re free to go. But just remember where you’re going back to – you’re going back to comfort zones, going back to habits, going back to patterns.”

Unburden yourself with Mohanji – Experiences With Mohanji

Generally, he has spoken earlier that he’s got a destination to reach. He’s happy for as many people to come on that journey as they want, but he has to move. He speaks of the bus analogy; he can sort of stop the bus or park the bus for a certain amount of time, but it has to move. So for all people who are stopping, or who may have left him, or who may have decided it’s not completely for them at that time, to catch up is very difficult.

I experienced this on a daily basis, trying to catch up with the pace, so over a longer amount of time, I think it would be very difficult.

That’s the lesson which I wanted to share today. I’m also taking away that it is really about being aware now of the moment that I have, the opportunity that I have, and that all of us who have been connected to Mohanji have. Because like he says, “There are no dress rehearsals in life.” There’s no Okay, I’ll have a practice, and then I’ll give it my real go. It is now, the moment is now, and life is now. And if we’re not living in the now, then we’re not living the truth of what we have, which is the moment that’s right in front of us.

Now, it’s becoming a daily reminder of the small, minute to minute, hour to hour interactions and of the speed of the program for my much larger objective and purpose of where I personally want to go to.

Day 72 Lesson – Standing by those who trust him

Yesterday, we left Kannur to travel back to Calicut. For me, it’s been a complete, fast-track introduction to the culture and lifestyle of South India. I’m enjoying all the different experiences and exposures provided, especially the breakfast, dosa and vada, which are really tasty. The scenery and greenery too, it’s very beautiful, even if it’s only just witnessing, as we pass by all these nice places in the car because there’s definitely no time for sightseeing.

This trip has been quite interesting for me because I’ve noticed that a lot of the trip, Mohanji has been spending time catching up with old school and college friends. We’ve driven through the various towns and cities; we’ve been meeting all the different friends, and also, I’ve been able to see all the places where Mohanji spent his youth; his school and his family home as well and other locations have been pointed out along the way.

What’s lovely to witness is that, even though so many years have passed since he met his friends, the coming together is like the same connection they had when they were either at school or college. For example, they used to go and see feature films all the time during their college days and other experiences that different friends have shared too. It’s good to see that those relationships have stood steady; they stayed strong even after many years of not meeting. For me, it shows that regardless of what has happened and the changes in Mohanji’s life, he still stayed the same with them in that connection. There is a deep affection, and it is as if time has never passed.

No photo description available.

One particular meeting yesterday was touching for me because it truly showed how Mohanji stands by those who trust in him. It was a visit to the family of a man who was a close friend of Mohanji during his earlier years and also his days when he was working in Muscat. I can’t share the full details and don’t want to because it’s not my story to tell. But I can share the main points.

This man was a businessman in Muscat. One day he called Mohanji and told him that despite having all the connections in business, all the associates, and all the friends, it was only Mohanji that he trusted.

Mohanji took this as a joke and said, “How come you became so sentimental all of a sudden, this isn’t like you.” They had the conversation and left it at this. The next day (it was very far from a joke), the man had a tragic accident, which left him in a vegetative state. He had his wife and children too, and at that time, his wife called Mohanji because he had also spoken to her and said that there was only really Mohanji that he trusted in his life. So she contacted Mohanji about this situation, and he gave himself fully to help.

It was a very complex story; Mohanji shared with us a lot of details about it. He had to support them in many ways, but the result essentially was that she was supported. He did his duty that he had towards his friend who trusted him so much. One of the outcomes is that the standard disability payment would have been 5,000 Riyals in that country, but Mohanji managed to arrange through whatever ways that it became 30,000 Riyals. The only condition was that they couldn’t meet; (Mohanji and this lady) because he didn’t want anybody to think that he was part of that situation to take any money as that’s how society will see things. At that time, Mohanji’s friend’s son was only four, as all this happened in the early 2000s.

Yesterday, we visited her and her family, and it was a really warm welcome. Mohanji spent a good time talking to her son, who’s now a very successful man in his own right. Mohanji reconfirmed that his support was always there. Mohanji invited the son to breakfast this morning, where he was introduced to contacts and well supported.

The whole story has many finer details, which are quite remarkable. What I take from it, what I’m witnessing is that Mohanji stood by this man, even though the circumstances were very challenging. From all the interactions that I’ve seen as well between Mohanji and his friends, he still stands by them all. He actually stands by anyone who places their trust in him.

EMpowered by Mohanji – 8

We have another series of testimonials by participants of the empowered program as we march towards Empowered 2.0.

Andrijana Ristovska, Macedonia

Empowered – ‘A journey from fear to freedom’ was a very powerful event, and again I have the feeling that every answer is for me, and I cannot put the pen down of trying to write down everything. For me, this event is also a confirmation of our connection in consciousness. One month ago, I was writing in my spiritual journal about ways to feel more empowered, covering different topics that could benefit me because I needed them so much. Now, Mohanji is leading an event about empowerment and going into depths that I would never have gone alone. So beneficial, so precious, and so powerful. I feel very grateful to attend it. Thanks to all of you who made this happen.

Sandra Sankar, South Africa

The RAWness of absolute truth is as elusive as the clouds on a hot summer day. Like wisps of fleeting consciousness teasing our whimsical mind, we sometimes miss the importance of eternal connections that bring us to this life.

If all of us are connected, what does it mean? Our paths cross, playing out the imprinted patterns we have picked up along the way. Mohanji says we never learn. We repeat and come back. Knowing this, do you?

‘Telling it like it is’ comes with bare-faced courage to be yourself regardless of the expectations of the world. Yet, it is easier to hide behind a facade of illusionary displays, judging each other without knowing the truth.

In Kaliyug, what we see is not what we get. Yet do we get it? We go where our mind teases us, forgetting we are the magnificent ‘unbound consciousness.’

Mohanji tells us that our body is but one-eighth of our majestic etheric make-up. We live; we die locked into a tight frame of illusions conjured up by the genie of the mind. Look again. Who is pulling the strings?

Mohanji also says that when we create frames or boundaries, he will run away if we want to put him in it! The Master knows the way to be fearless, unbound and free yet here we are so easily distracted. All are tests.

Why are we so preoccupied with the external world that we disregard internal calls of the intimate lover of SELF. Consciousness is speeding us up, but our busy mind is in reverse. It’s time to check out which lane you are on? I know mine.

The power-packed 11-day workshop with Mohanji left everyone in deep awe. From ecstasy to gratitude, people had all sorts of emotions pouring in throughout. Everyone felt healed and transformed. Mohanji not only delivered profound knowledge with laser-sharp clarity but worked on people’s blockages and deep-rooted patterns of lifetimes. For me, it was a very special experience, an experience of my journey from fear to freedom. Layers and layers were peeled, a lot of contemplation happened as I came face to face with myself. With more and more practice of the techniques which Mohanji gave and his immense grace, my energy level soared really high. Towards the middle of the program, I noticed how situations around me were gradually harmonizing, especially a bad relationship, which was suffering for many months, was beautifully healing. To me, it was a BIG thing because otherwise, however hard I would try, I would end up in more misunderstanding. I am really thankful to Mohanji for lifting this burden from my heart. I am looking forward to Empowered 2 in December. Jai Mohanji.

Nirupma Chowdhary – India

In today’s session, I was just flowing. Recognizing my distractions, accepting them and through awareness, eliminating some was what I was doing. At the end of the session, Mohanji gave us a technique, ‘SILENCE METHOD’, and it was an eye-opener. It was a direct connection if we are observant.

Normally, we are working, doing many activities throughout the day and even during the session. Do we ever think to pause and be in the present, connect and be there to imbibe the treasure Mohanji is sharing?

This is a technique, if practised, can transform us and lead us deep into our inner self. Thanks, Mohanji!

Preeti Duggal – India

Yesterday we started with the Empowered online retreat with Mohanji. It was such an amazing experience. There were around 700 participants, but many felt that it was like a one-to-one connection with the Guru.

Mohanji spoke about our journey together and the hurdles we faced during the journey. Personally, for me, it was a session for contemplation and self-analysis. The whole night those words echoed in my mind, and this morning I found myself taking the first step towards self-discovery. So powerful are these retreats with our Guru. So grateful and blessed to have joined the program.

Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 69 & 70

by Christopher Greenwood

Day 69 Lesson – Knitting the world together

Good morning, everybody. I hope that you are doing really well.

Today the pace continues, the activities continue. Yesterday morning was a real treat for me, as we went to visit a Kalari Center, where Mohanji had some marma treatment. They put on a show for us as well. I’ve never actually seen or experienced that, so it was really something special to see.  I took a video I can share with you all.

Something which has been emerging over the past days and has been really impressive to witness and watch are the connections that are coming together around Mohanji. The people who we are meeting are all fantastic and great people in their own right, starting from the first group of people we met, the entrepreneurs and businessmen, and continuing with the Kalari practitioners and the owners of the centre, which has a 45-year long tradition.

Kalari

This morning, we were meeting other people as well. As we meet family, relatives, old friends in this area, other connections are coming forward, and it’s almost as if Mohanji is stitching together one big family of all these people, the global family he talks about. All of these people have a good, positive outlook on life and also a philosophy towards what they want to see happening and changing in the world.

So, rather than a lesson, it’s more of an observation today. As we’re moving, bringing people together and meeting people, it’s almost as if deep connections are being formed or being re-established. I’m very excited and interested to see what comes from this, because so far on our trip the people we’ve met have been fantastic and great in their fields.

If I think about all the volunteers and the people we work with within the foundation, all of them have a similar mindset. As the momentum is picking up, as we’re growing, and as the Mohanji centres in Ganeshpuri and Slovenia are coming along very soon, it feels as if there’s a real change happening.

Even though this year we’ll have the COVID restrictions, there are still many activities that are moving forward and becoming more established. For example, at the book release function, we were able to present well the Mohanji Global platforms. In around five minutes, we succinctly presented everything that we were doing. When you look at it, when you look across everything that’s happening, right from the teachings, all the book publications, the programs, and then, on the other side, all the selfless service activities, supporting people with food, shelter, clothing and everything else, disaster relief – it’s really great to work. When you put it down to figures, it’s been happening for 18 years now, and there’s still much more to come.

So, that’s it for today. A bit of a short one, as we’re preparing for a spontaneous interview. This seems to be the case travelling with Mohanji; things just happen. A news reporter wanted to come and take an interview with Mohanji. We’re busy preparing for that and making sure that everything’s arranged for when they come. Also, please enjoy the Kalari video.

Thank you for listening, and I hope you have a great day ahead.

Day 70 Lesson – How much have I given to earth?

Good morning, everybody. I hope you’re doing very well.

Like the previous days, yesterday was another packed day, right from the early morning until the evening. We started off with breakfast with a prominent architect in the area. This was another reminder for me that when travelling with Mohanji, I should always be prepared for the unexpected. I had thought that we’d have breakfast, then go back to the room, and I’d be able to do this morning message and everything else I needed to do. But, we were invited to go and visit the architect’s property, where construction was taking place, just to see the style of architecture which he created.

So, straight after breakfast, we were in the car, travelling. It was a great experience to go there because it showed how quickly, after meeting Mohanji for the first time, a very strong connection was built.

What I’ve witnessed throughout this whole journey is that there are many people who have come to meet Mohanji for the first time. A lot of them have come to know him through the 4 am Club talks which he does. He sends those out daily in the morning. However, for everybody that comes to meet him, an instant connection happens, like a renewal of a relationship.

I’ll share some photos of the area because it was quite a nice location. I think Mohanji really likes that style, too, so it could be an inspiration for future buildings.

Also, we had a surprise interview yesterday. An advertised article appeared in the paper about the book release function, and then, a journalist wanted to speak further to Mohanji to do a feature spread. They came to the hotel, and the interview took place. And again, it was amazing to see people connecting with all the platforms, all the activities we’re doing across the world. I am looking forward to that feature coming out.

As always, witnessing all of this and Mohanji’s schedule from early morning to the evening, I admired that all this is done for the benefit of the platforms so that we can serve even more people. For me, it was also a reflection on my own life. I was thinking about how much I have contributed to earth in my time here. Up until three or four years ago, I was just living life, taking, consuming, eating, drinking, travelling, and doing all the things which I wanted to do. It was a complete contrast to Mohanji’s activity and schedule. I know that we shouldn’t compare, but it was a reminder of how much I have actually been contributing and also an inspiration for how much more I can contribute in the future.

I was witnessing what he’s doing, all the activity that he goes through, often at the expense of himself, because it takes a toll on his body. I’ve shared in a previous recording that after he’s met people or done a Satsang, his belly swells. Once, it got almost three times the normal size. Also, with different types of food here, he is very sensitive to spices. So, he’s going through all that too, taking a lot on while still giving his time and dedication to all who come to see him. It’s really admirable.

Yesterday, when we were travelling, it was good to see a side of Mohanji that I hadn’t seen before. The four of us, Moti, Madhu, Vipin and Mohanji, spent four or five hours in the car. . Although I couldn’t speak Malayalam, it was just like a road trip with the guys. That was the feeling because the connection that they have with him is very much like that of a friend, a companion. They were sharing stories, joking, laughing. We’d stop on the way to eat at the roadside cafés, and Mohanji was sharing lots of stories and jokes too. So, although I couldn’t understand the language, it was quite easy to catch the feel of the trip.

Now we’ve arrived in another place, and there’ll be more people scheduled to meet on this trip.

I hope you have a great day ahead. That was the main observation I was musing on today and yesterday: how much I have personally taken from the earth and how much I have given back.

Have a great day.

EMpowered by Mohanji – 7

By Charles N.Londi

Mohanji empowering without power

Those without a spiritual view of life think of empowering in mundane terms, especially when they hear that a spiritual master will be holding an empowering seminar. They might imagine that he’ll confer magic wands and brooms to those who attend the seminar of the nature Harry Porter and other wizards use to zoom through the sky. This stems from a warped understanding of the word ‘spiritual.’ In the EMPOWERED seminar with Mohanji from the 2nd to the 12th of September, he handed out some invisible magic wands and brooms, which would disappoint those who want to see only tangible things to be convinced they are in possession of something. But before anything, let’s look at the title of this article.

Empowering without power? Isn’t it oxymoronic to say Mohanji empowers without power? It sounds like he has nothing to offer yet wants to empower people. Can you give what you don’t have? However, he has so much to give that those from the material level of life cannot appreciate. Yes, he empowered people during the last seminar without trying to have any power over them by being bossy, commanding, condescending, looking down on the audience, having feelings of superiority, authority, etc. Aspects that people in the human consciousness like to exercise over their fellow beings to show they are in control.

”But isn’t that normal as a spiritual master,” some may ask? Without being critical or putting down anyone, but just for the sake of conveying truth, I want to say that I have come across instances where some masters may try to bind the student to themselves with threats of dire consequences if they leave, and they consider it a betrayal of the master, and state that the student who abandons will suffer for eons in the hellish realms of the lower astral plane until the master takes pity on him and rehabilitates him. This is in sharp contrast to Mohanji’s pronouncements. He stated very clearly that everyone has to mull over what he says, contemplate it over and over, and if they find it useful, only then adhere to his teachings. His attitude is discretionary.

He doesn’t say, ”Look, lost souls, what I am telling you is the highest truth, and you must take it, or else my wrath will descend on you.” He tells you that if you are not satisfied or not sure of what he is presenting, then you have the freedom to leave and seek truth elsewhere. How wonderful to also hear him say that no one actually needs a master until the need for one happens, in which case the master is actually only a guide directing the individual back to his own true self, the inner master, and that the moment anyone starts looking to connect with something/someone out of themselves, then they are lost. To hear these words is to be empowered personally, which is in sharp contrast to the cultivation of a personality cult by centering all attention on himself. Then he added that his job is to create or mint more masters, actually realize the inner guru in everyone, and that it is a collaborative effort with him for all who seek truth and freedom with him.

Wow! So you want more souls to stand in the divine light instead of standing in it alone and having the spotlight of unique and exclusive glory, Mohanji? Is this not empowering others selflessly without seeking any control over them?

Mohanji demonstrated during the 11-day seminar that love and freedom are not based on authority but on demonstration being selflessly proactive. The act of throwing the ball back on the courts of seminar participants could have been disgusting to those who want others to chew, and they just swallow without effort. But the cornerstone of Mohanji’s empowerment during the seminar was to bring out the good hiding in most people because of fear, not wanting to leave their comfort zones, and unwillingness to exert energy creatively to exercise their dharmic responsibilities and those who seek social approval. Yes, some people are easy-going with dictators and were certainly very disappointed as Mohanji’s modus operandi is DIY (Do it yourself).

A lot can be said about the 11-day seminar in regard to Mohanji’s words, but suffice to say that he subtly intimated that the quintessence of true spiritual freedom could only be realized through self-empowerment. Mohanji provided many of these tools, the use of which is discretionary. You may use them, or you may not.

Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 67 & 68

by Christopher Greenwood

Day 67 Lesson – Taking it to the highest

Good morning everybody, I hope you’re doing well. Yesterday was a major event with the launch of Mohanji’s father’s translations of Shri Sripada Srivallabha and the Sage of Sakuri books.

The morning was hectic preparing for the event and also for final meetings with the guests. Mohanji had arranged a big breakfast gathering in his room for the main organizers and the guests who had come. Madhu and I finalized the presentation – an overview of the Mohanji Global platforms and gave it to the chief guest to share the variety of selfless activities we’re doing across the world.

The pace and schedule of the past days have been fast; it included a visit to the Shirdi Sai Temple for lighting a lamp ceremony, and then a 4 am Club program – where Mohanji took part in an open and frank Q&A. This meant that in the morning everything needs to be set out well, to make sure timings from one event to the next are all taken into account – the travel, the equipment that’s going to be packed, what clothes are going to be worn. It’s all a big organization and logistic operation in the mornings.

We made the final arrangements, and we arrived at the venue. For me, it was a real lesson and observation that Mohanji’s vision takes all his activities to the best and the highest possible outcome. So for everything that he has to do – How far can we take it? What more can we do? And it’s always as well with a real class and elegance.

Whilst everyone had prepared well for the event, and the team had done a great job, Mohanji was always looking at the larger picture and the finer details. He wasn’t just concerned with the event being a success, but also how it would be seen and remembered and stand the test of time too. He was looking for every opportunity to make improvements and gave us guidance on how it could be made much better.

He personally received the dignitaries; he gave advice on the camera angles, the positioning. He was always aware of what was happening, how people were positioned, where the cameramen were. He would give additional instructions to make the final tweaks that would bring a real difference from time to time.

Prior to the event, he’d made sure that he consulted his uncle to get his advice on preparing for the event (showing real respect for him). What was clear was the lengths that Mohanji had gone to ensure that this was a special event for Acchan, his father, because his father had originally thought that this would be an event that was on a small scale, a release at a local Sai Baba temple. Mohanji took it to a completely different level in order to recognize the achievement that Acchan had made. Mohanji ensured that the books, which are in line with Sanatana Dharma principles, were positioned properly because the Masters in those books aren’t so well known within Kerala.

Overall, the day itself went very smoothly. The guests arrived on time; they were seated on the stage, and not only everything started in good time but also everything finished exactly on time, exactly 12 o’clock when it was meant to end, it concluded. This was very surprising given the number of people who spoke, the number of honouring that took place with the shawls and the book offerings, and we didn’t know how long people would actually speak for.

It was a real coming together of activity. In the end, everybody was also fed well, and the guests were seen off. Everybody wanted to have the opportunity to meet Mohanji, so we spoke with them, and we greeted them. In the end, I believe Acchan was very happy with the event, along with Amma, Mohanji’s mother. It was also a lesson in dedication through his efforts and single focus to ensure his father’s work was well honoured.

I hope you have a great day ahead and will speak to you soon.

Day 68 Lesson – Keeping promises

Good morning everybody. I hope you’re doing very well.

Today, I wanted to share some observations and experiences from the past day. A day travelling with Mohanji seems like quite a few days because so much is packed into the day. It’s really unexpected what happens during the course of the day. Travelling with Mohanji is fast-paced and unpredictable, so it makes it very hard to have any idea of what will happen.

Yesterday, for example, we were travelling, and we came to visit one of Mohanji’s contacts, Moti, who has an Eye Hospital. We thought it would just be a visit, to meet him and to speak to him. Some other people came to meet Mohanji as well because they were in the area. But what was supposed to be a visit changed completely. We walked to an auditorium hall where all the students from this Eye Hospital or the university were seated; there must have been about 100 people there. There was a banner for both Mohanji and Moti on the stage, and it turned into an actual Satsang show.

None of us expected this. It was another example of being flexible and also being alert and aware. So having all the right things with us, the recorder, the camera, and all the cards we needed were very important.

In situations that I found now while travelling, there’s no real ‘this is what we’re doing, so be prepared.’ You have to always be alert and be aware. Even Madhu and I were invited up on stage, and we gave a short speech ourselves too. So ‘being flexible’ is being put to the test all the time

One of the things I was speaking to Madhu about is the energy as well that you’re surrounded with when you’re travelling with Mohanji, because it’s very active, it’s very fast, and it’s high energy. Madhu shared an experience where he goes back home after spending some time being with Mohanji; it’s almost as if he has to rest and recuperate because it’s been so intense that it requires it some time to recharge and recoup from the activity.

I can definitely experience that now because the days have flown by, and it is really relentless – from the morning right through to the evening. For example, yesterday we travelled, and we stopped at a few places too; we went to visit a Samadhi, where we were welcomed, and there was Aarti which we stayed for. Then by the time we reached the hotel, it was probably gone half past 10. Again we were up early this morning, and we came to a Kalari centre.

Yesterday as well, while observing Mohanji and travelling with him, I noticed that one of the things which he completely lives by is keeping his commitments, especially his promises; it’s something really admirable.

Yesterday, because of the unexpected events, the schedule got pushed back a little bit on when we were expected to arrive in the city where we are now – Calicut. He had promised to meet somebody, as we arrived quite late, we realized that this person was about to take the train. We quickly found out where he was, adjusted our plans and travelled to the hotel he was in so that Mohanji could keep that promise to meet him, and he did. Mohanji spent probably about half an hour with him, just before this person caught his train. We dropped him at the train station too.

There were other people on the way who he had promised to meet, and we kept all the promises. This gives a very clear and distinct understanding of the character, of the integrity, of the commitment, and also dedication. It was really admirable to observe.

Then this morning, we’re up early. As I mentioned, we came to a Kalari centre (which is the traditional martial arts) here; they also practice some treatments based on all the energetic points in the body, the marma points. We’ve come to the school here, so that’s where I am now. For me as well, this morning, because we were up early, it’s flexible to make sure I can do these recordings anywhere we are. I hope you have a good day ahead.

The main things of today’s sharing are the energy and the intensity of what it’s like to travel with Mohanji and be in his presence. People have experienced a real need to rest after time with Mohanji. And also, the fact that Mohanji is keeping his promises – everyone who he said that he would meet yesterday, he fulfilled it. All promises were kept. It was a real lesson in integrity and keeping your word.

Speak soon.

EMpowered by Mohanji – 6

By Linda Abrol, Netherlands

Part 2

Yesterday, I allowed myself two cookies as a dessert after dinner and fed some to the ducks. The cookies contained chocolate, gluten and sugar, the three items that my body resist very much. For many years I had had the habit of taking something sweet once a day, after diner, even though I knew it was difficult for my body to process. I did this because total suppression of my craving for sweet food had an adverse effect. This was an effective compromise that made me enjoy the ‘sinful moment’ a lot. It was so much better than randomly taking these food items during the day. A very good step 1! After a long time, I was ready for step 2. I replaced the sweets or cookies by something more healthy and acceptable for my body. My stomach ache got less and allergic reactions as well. I slept better.

Craving also got less but is easily evoked. When Mohanji spoke yesterday to a lady about offering food to the animals when food-intake has become a habit and takes over, I regarded it as permission to start again with my after-dinner sweets-habit and gave some cookie crumbles to the ducks. They do have problems digesting grains, I have been told recently, but I gave it anyway. It was so little.

The next morning Mohanji said inside: ‘You didn’t do me a favour.’ He said it in a humoristic way, half smiling.

Before he said this, I felt his energy right inside of me, which felt amazing, and I had told him that he was so welcome to take over the wheel. After hearing his words, I realised what had happened: my action of yesterday was quite illogical. I had already successfully stopped with a habit and had replaced it with something much more effective. Now I interpreted Mohanji’s teaching of yesterday in my favour and went back to my old pattern. But since he was inside of me, he ‘suffered’ the consequences.

This reminds me of an incident of many years ago. My food habits were much of a problem at that time. I over-ate frequently, but after I had met Sri Sathya Sai Baba, one morning I heard his voice inside of me saying: ‘What did you eat? I ate aspirin yesterday.’ In two simple sentences, He made our unity clear and made sure that I understood that the God part in me was suffering from over-eating because it is much more difficult to raise my frequency to concentration and meditation levels. So the benefit of eating consciously has great advantages on the spiritual path. I love that both Sai Baba and Mohanji don’t judge me like I used to do myself. They just kindly made me aware of the consequences. That is very helpful. Love you, Mohanji!

Part 3

While I was sitting in my little temple this morning, the thought came: will I be as forgetful as my parents? They both had Alzheimer’s disease. I realised that my thoughts were not helping me and let them pass. Suddenly I heard Mohanji say inwardly: ‘I will give you so much of love that you will forget everything!’

What a beautiful message! Picking me up from where I was, he turned me into a whole new direction! My heart jumped, and my spirit got elevated to bliss level.

Today while doing the practice, I went into the cave of my heart. I found Mohanji there, embracing me and never letting me go. I could do nothing but cry. Totally in bliss, I forgot everything. The pain that I have, because my dear mother is dying at this very moment in time, vanished and turned into bliss, bliss, bliss. I love being forgetful! How is this possible? How can one feel blissful while her mother, whom she is so close to, is dying? I know I will cry a lot in the coming days, but I am sure this will carry me through the process. Thank you, Mohanji!

By Mimnasa Arora, India

This is my very first event with Mohanji; I have never met him physically or been in any live session. Since day one, at the start of the session, my head and the back of my neck started feeling very heavy, this remained like that for some minutes, but my mind was telling me that it was just any normal ache, the same happened on the 2nd day and on the 3rd day as well. On day 3, I had severe sinus issues and was hardly able to work that day because of a runny nose and teary eyes, this continued even during the session, and I was hardly able to focus or keep myself straight seated. Then somewhere in the middle, when Mohanji mentioned that he was working on all of us, I started expressing my gratitude and suddenly, within seconds, my whole nasal passage just got cleared; there was no sign of cold!

As someone who has had sinus problems for quite some time, I don’t experience such a clear passage very often. When I started expressing more gratitude, I could feel a lot of pressure on my 3rd eye and crown chakra. Now I know very well that it was all Mohanji’s doing and his way of working on us. My deepest gratitude to Mohanji, may we all always be under his protection.

Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 65 & 66

By Christopher Greenwood

Day 65 Lesson – Respect Cont.

When you’re travelling with Mohanji, it certainly requires an element of flexibility and the ability to adapt to the pace because the schedule is very busy. And there’s little time to prepare between one event and the next. To give you an idea of this, we finished the Nila Aarti on Thursday around 9 pm. After food and travel, we reached Guruvayur, our next location, by 11:30 pm, so we settled in the room by maybe 12 am.

Ananth, Madhu, and I still have other work to do, so the only times that we get to do it is when we’re not travelling. We get up early, by 4 am, to finish emails or anything else that we need to tie up.

Yesterday was the darshan of Lord Krishna. So, we left the hotel early to visit the temple. Like this, the days are packed, so there’s little or no room to sit idle.

Yesterday, I spoke about respect, the key lesson I took from Mohanji’s attendance and speech at the River Ceremony because that was all about respecting the Nila River. Mohanji had said that respecting the water bodies and all the other elements brings harmony and peace within. That culture of respect is something integral to the Tradition.

Today I continue this lesson because we visited Mohanji’s parental home yesterday, where all the temples for his family deities are kept. But leading up until that, I can share some of the morning’s events, too.

In the morning, we left the hotel room for the darshan of Lord Krishna in Guruvayur temple. This was a new temple for me; I had never heard of it before. The form, the idol in the temple, is an eight-year-old form of Krishna. It’s believed that it’s the idol that Krishna’s parents, Vasudeva and Devaki, actually worshipped. Mohanji really likes that temple. He said that he once stood for four hours in line waiting for the darshan there.

Guruvayur – Lord Krishna

Being a Westerner, it wasn’t possible for me to enter, but I joined with them and walked around the temple grounds. It’s a very large setting, and the atmosphere is serene. Inside the larger temple complex is a smaller, original temple with beautiful paintings on the outside. Our allotted time was around 7:30 am, but they hadn’t opened yet when we arrived, which meant we quickly changed plans. We visited someone’s local Sai Baba temple there. It was a family home. When we entered, we went straight for Aarti. I thought what a blessing it was for this family for Mohanji to come as it was only because the temple was late to open that this opportunity emerged. But was it a coincidence? Probably not; he’s always meant to go where he’s meant to go.

We came back to the temple after Mohanji had finished darshan at the home of one of the devotees and then went back to the hotel room. And again, on this tight time schedule, we had 10-15 minutes to pack before leaving for Mohanji’s family home. This is a place that Mohanji visits each year to give offerings and prayers to the family deities out of respect. I inquired about this, and he explained that a family would often have a family deity or a patron saint. This was something new for me, but I’m sure it’s a fairly common thing for some people.

I wanted to know more about its significance. Mohanji explained it in this way: when you have invited a deity into your family, through worship, it’s like you’ve brought that guest into your home, and it becomes a family member, too. So, if you stop offering to them or respecting them, it’s almost as if you brought somebody to the house and to your table to have food, and then when you start eating, you don’t offer them anything. That type of disrespect can be created, and since deities are frequencies, it also connects with that aspect inside us.

On this trip, Mohanji made a point that he needed to visit his family temples to make offerings, so we took oil and incense. It was lovely to see the old home and the property. Mohanji shared that some generations back, this was part of a much larger, grander estate. Then we went to where they had the small temples to the main deities – Narasimha, and Lord Ayyappa, which his cousin takes care of.

I saw the continuation of respect by observing how Mohanji fulfils all his responsibilities with complete dedication, offering to the family deities being one of them. He does this every year. He does what he must do, and there’s no compromise.

Once we took refreshments there, we left for the next location. Like this, event after event, visit after visit, we’re moving. Tomorrow is the book launch of Mohanji’s father, Achan’s book. He translated Sripada Sri Vallabha. That is going to be quite a grand event. Now we’re about to travel there to prepare for the event and ensure we’re ready for a good program tomorrow.

Day 66 Lesson – Commanding Power

This morning is exceptionally busy as we’re in the final preparations for the book launch in Thrissur. This is where Gurulight, the Mohanji publishing platform, is launching his father’s books.

Achan’s books are translations into Malayalam of the divine book Sripada Sri Vallabha and also The Sage of Sakuri, which is the story of Upasni Maharaj. He was the one to who Shirdi Sai Baba transferred his powers. This very powerful and relatively unknown master lived in Sakuri, which is six kilometres from Shirdi.

Ananth and Devadas have gone off early to the venue for the final preparations, and myself, Madhu, Mohanji, and a few other people are here, busy on the final touches. Madhu and I are working on our presentation, an overview of the Mohanji platforms.

I’m sure it’s going to be a great event. There are several important dignitaries who will be attending. And it’s such an admirable achievement for Achan. A lesson I’ve picked up from living with him is a lesson in focus, dedication, and commitment. This event completes nearly two years of work that he’s been doing to translate the books. He even learned the Telugu language so that he could translate it properly into Malayalam because the English translation didn’t have the essence of the original script. He actually learned a new language so that his translation could be as authentic to the original as it could be.

For the past nine months, he worked on it from morning till night, a very disciplined routine, only pausing for meals and coffee or coming out for a brief conversation. Other than that, he was fully dedicated.

Book Launch

The whole setup of this event has been an observation that Mohanji’s presence simply gets things done. When he’s around, there’s a transformation in the environment; everything comes together at the right time and the right place. The right people show up to help; the resources come, the materials are found, the props become available.

Yesterday, I was a witness to all this setup, as I needed to stay back and receive some guests at the hotel that we’re staying at. But earlier in the day, Ananth, Devadas and I went to the venue. It was quite late, around 4 pm, and the person who was meant to come and help arrange everything and show us around was late, too. So, by 5:30 pm, things still were not as they should have been. It was all bare-bones, basic stage, plastic chairs, some rundown furniture. There was nothing there really, so we had to do a lot. We brought some materials, but still, there were many things to arrange. Seeing what had to be done, I knew it was going to be a real feat. At the same time, however, knowing who was with us behind this event, there was no real doubt that it would come together.

From arriving at this very basic venue and assessing the situation, I thought there was much more to do there. Not that it’s impossible, but there’s a lot to be done. Mohanji arrived later, close to 6 pm. He said, “Okay, I want to go and check the venue.” I stayed back and arranged for guests and the check-in. I shouldn’t have been surprised, but I was a bit when Madhu texted me a picture of the venue just an hour or so later. It was a complete transformation. All the right props turned up; all the materials have come together. I’m positive that without Mohanji presence there, it wouldn’t have happened that way.

So, it’s a real lesson, but it’s not something I’ve been able to completely learn yet. I’m admiring or aspiring to grasp the power of Mohanji’s presence. Because what he says and puts his will towards – happens.

We spoke about this as well, because there was a king who lived in this area, which I can share more about another day. We were sharing the idea and fact of commanding power. There are many Shaktis – Iccha Shakti, Jnana Shakti and Kriya Shakti are the ones I am familiar with, but I hadn’t heard of this before, the commanding power, or Aagnya Shakti. I can’t say I’ve learnt it, but it’s something to aspire to.

This was a small update for you today. And now, the breakfast is waiting, and the event is not too far away. So, I’ll go and join, and I hope you have a great day ahead.

EMpowered by Mohanji – 5

Radha Ambat, India

Empowered day 2 experience: I want to express deep gratitude for having received the highest wealth a life can offer from the two sessions attended with Mohanji. Words cannot describe the happiness and bliss I felt during the sessions, the empty feeling, the lightness and happiness. He is boldly leading us from utter confusion to ultimate truth by showing us how to change, like our pulling habits, patterns, and deep wounds that bind us here. He is leading us, holding on to the values, walking us through the prescribed ideals in this established and strong path in our way to find the truth. The mere thought of having the chance to learn under his care and protection while we walk with him in the coming days gives indescribable happiness. He is guiding us, keeping us under his strong wings, boldly as a mother holding her babies, towards the ultimate truth with the very fact that he himself is the ocean of truth is just bliss. I offer and express immense gratitude to my Guru, who is the light, and feel the highest joy in every moment while he reveals the way and holds us with him. Jai Mohanji.

Amala Anil

My experiences of the Empowered program were beautiful and transformative. On the first day, my emotions reached an extreme level and then slowly calmed down; I felt tired the next day but tried to concentrate on the program. In the following days, I slowly gained discipline, feeling more energetic and focused. After one of the sessions, I felt warm energy passing through my body. As I felt more silent within, I realized it was Mohanji’s beautiful energy that I was experiencing and felt so blessed. I have received the divine blessings of my Baba, whom I love dearly and who is my only destination. I bow at the feet of Mohanji and surrender myself to his abundant power. I feel more confident day by day. Thank you, Mohanji!

Anonymous

I woke up with a heavy heart this morning with too many thoughts and anxiety about a decision. From 3 to 5 in the morning, I was trying to pause-withdraw-return; but nothing seemed to be working. At 6:00, I called a friend from the Mohanji family, practically discussed everything and agreed on a plan about the current situation. I still felt a little heavy, and then at 6:30 got a confirmation from Mohanji, ‘I am with you’ via a message. The moment the evening session started, I felt as if he was talking to me; he kind of dissected everything I had gone through in the morning and made me understand what I was doing and how I was suffering due to my own mind, patterns, resistance and ownership about the given situation. He is working on each of us and peeling the layers so that we can see the reality, our true self. Blessed are we to have him guiding us in such an amazing way. Thank you, Mohanji. No words can ever express the gratitude I am feeling for you and for this experience. Sending you all lots of love, may we all be empowered and become the divine instruments to spread the light.

Ash (Sonia), Muscat

My experience of 11 Days of Empowered with Mohanji and the M Family is difficult to describe in words at the state I am in at this moment in time. I got a chance to speak to Mohanji; like many of us, all my questions were subtly answered by my beloved Mohanji. But I still wanted to thank him and pay my gratitude. Any words or feelings will look small in front of what Mohanji is and has been for all of us. Like Mohanji mentioned, if you have a transformation, talk about it. I got very overwhelmed when it was my turn to talk, so here I am writing about my transformation. I have a 32 months old toddler, and my husband and I are staying in Muscat, Oman, away from home and family. I have been struggling to find time for my sadhana, chanting and yoga practice. I was waking up early, but I wasn’t finding enough time for myself to do all the above. Since I started the 11-day Empowered workshop, I have been waking up at 4:30 am consistently every day and taking a shower, doing my chanting, sadhanas and pranayama in the morning and then moving on to my daily chores. I haven’t felt better, and the feeling gets even much better and brighter with each day. Despite sleeping as little as 4 hours on some days, I feel much more awake than I would feel sleeping 8 hours. Quality of sleep has improved, awareness to stay in the moment is getting there, and so many emotions are being washed away. I wouldn’t say it was easy. The mind plays so many games. Mind capturing on words of Mohanji and telling me it is ok to be in-disciplined once in a while, but you are aware of it, so it’s ok, start tomorrow. But a very strong and determined voice of my Guru, my Mohanji, is telling me to wake up and wake up now, strong enough to make my mind quiet. I thank Mohanji for letting me be a part of this journey of becoming fearless, and I will work on these for the next two months before we meet Mohanji again in December for another power-packed transformation program. I surrender at my Father’s feet to bless me and help me walk this path of being fearless! Also, a big thank you to all the organizers for making the journey so smooth. Bless you, all. Shubhashree, a special thanks to you for the brightest smiles ever.

Anjali – Australia

This was my first workshop with Mohanji, and I can say it’s been a huge transformation for me. I could feel a lot of energy in my crown chakra and spine from the first day. The divine energy of Mohanji has given me so many blissful experiences during meditation and Kriya. The silence technique has helped me during Kriya and while communicating with family and peers. There is more silence, and I am more in the present moment. There is more clarity, and I’m able to get more work done in a short time. I feel my fears have dropped off too. I am able to voice my opinions more clearly and with stability at meetings with peers. Mohanji has answered many of my doubts directly and through questions asked by others. During the Silence meditation given by Mohanji, I had the most beautiful vision of Mohanji with me in the Blue Mountain Caves – Sydney, which I visited about 9 years ago. He was seated on a glowing stalactite and surrounded by gleaming stalactites and blessing me. It was the most beautiful vision and will be in my heart forever. This could never be my imagination. If I had to, I would have chosen the Himalayas. I feel blessed to be on this journey of liberation with my guiding light Mohanji. Thank you for everything, lots of love and gratitude.

Lessons Living with Mohanji – Days 63 & 64

by Christopher Greenwood

Day 63 Lesson – Living Humility

Good morning everybody. I hope you’re doing well today.

Yesterday after packing, we said our goodbyes to the entrepreneurs’ group, who we’d spoken to and stayed with the night before. Everyone was really glad to meet Mohanji. Many of them had been hearing his voice and messages each day through the 4 am Club. (Mohanji records an inspirational message on a topic daily for the 4 am club members, a process that’s been on for a year now.)

The Q&A yesterday was very practical, around business life, even spirituality. What Mohanji had provided the day before gave them plenty to think about and contemplate on. Recently, Mohanji had conducted a ten-session boot camp with the Invest in Awareness team and with all the heads of the Mohanji platforms. This talk was a condensed version of all of that.

Later that night, when Mohanji went to rest, Madhu and I stayed there with the group listening to them. They spent several hours discussing the topics that Mohanji had spoken about, how they could implement them, which showed how much it was valued, and how practical it was. In the morning, we said our goodbyes and departed. We joined our host as we visited his business locations in the local area and later a steel factory.

Travelling and being with Mohanji, you get to witness him interacting with many people, very different people from all walks of life. I have witnessed him interacting with drivers, local workers, accommodation staff, businessmen, serious entrepreneurs with large portfolios of businesses, priests, farmers, seekers, all people of various stature and positions.

What is admirable is that he meets people as they are, beyond the status, beyond the role, beyond the position. You can see him develop genuine heartfelt connections, especially with those who are kind and sincere. He connects to the person as they are, he gives everybody time, and he doesn’t position himself as a very high person, which makes him very approachable by all. He lives humility

Travelling and witnessing this is a real practical lesson for me about humility and also elegance. Contrary to this would be comparison, arrogance and pride, which doesn’t even come into the equation. Even though Mohanji has a definite status and stature in the world, he’s completely consistent with being humble and meeting everybody as they are.

For example, yesterday in the morning, we had been staying at a very nice mountaintop retreat in nature. By mid-morning, we were having tea with our host – a serious businessman. We were at his home, which was hugely impressive and beautiful. Then by lunch, we were at a steel factory, having lunch in the canteen, with the local staff there. Wherever Mohanji is, he’s completely comfortable, and this goes for the accommodation wherever he is put up. His requirements are very minimal. He’s often well supported with friends and associates where he goes, who really look after him. Although he doesn’t outwardly ask, it’s gifted.

Yesterday, we were at the steel factory, and it was a full tour. It was a large complex, so it lasted the whole afternoon, which meant we wouldn’t be back in time for food. So we had to pick something up on the way back. Mohanji being very practical, no pretensions – if we’re hungry, we need to get some food, so we stopped at a very bare-bones eating place, which I doubt many people would even take Mohanji to. But for him, there wasn’t even a thought; he’s not thinking about that. He’s not thinking: Okay, I’ll be humble, I’ll just cope. It’s just simply how he is – living humility all the time, and this was the same for our host too, who’s a serious businessman of stature, yet he was also completely fine there.

It was an experience to be part of this, witnessing humility in action, in all situations, just living it. My take away from this is how to practically live humility, that there is no need to position above anyone, to have pretence, arrogance or pride. Life and interactions have an elegant quality if you can live with humility and it actually becomes smooth; it flows.

I hope you have a great day ahead, and speak to you very soon.

Day 64 Lesson – Respect

Good morning everybody. I hope you’re doing well.

Last night we arrived at Guruvayur after attending the Nila River Aarti event, in which Mohanji was the main guest. It was a really beautiful event and also a momentous ceremony. I heard and understood that it was the first time an event like that had taken place in South India. They normally do this in North India, the Aarti to the river (like Ganga Aarti), but this was the first time here in South India.

Earlier in the morning, we had had breakfast on the benches outside. Where we’re staying, there’s a nice open area that looks out onto the fields. Breakfast was very good; it consisted of the typical South Indian dishes of dosa, vada, and some other things like Pongal – all very tasty.

Over breakfast, we were discussing the plan for the day and the evening, as we will be travelling from that location and staying over. We had to plan and prepare for our stay in Guruvayur, and then Mohanji began to share more details about the importance of this Aarti event – it was the first of its kind in South India, and the main essence of the ceremony was to show respect to the river.

He talked more about respect being the core teaching or the core aspect of the tradition, which is why such importance is placed on respecting all beings, and all aspects of life. He explained that when we have respect for everything in our life, we begin to live in harmony with nature.  If people truly respect life, this will bring peace because people will be aware that everything has its relevance and its place.

The worship of the river, in particular, is showing respect to water bodies that support all life on Earth and also the life within us. If we respect something, then we won’t treat it badly. In the same way, when we respect the river, we won’t dump waste, pollute it or destroy it as we understand its importance and the interrelatedness of our own life in connection with that water element. So, respect is very integral. The ceremony was the beginning of a tradition of respect for the river, which gives sustenance to so many states, particularly Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

This conversation gave me a chance to reflect on my own level of respect for the things I often take for granted, such as water, which I often overlook, even though I know it is vital for our lives. Do I treat it with the respect it deserves? Am I wasteful? I realized that it’s very easy to become absent-minded about this. I know now that I can always take steps to become more conscious of my use of water, to treat it with due respect. I have shared this in a previous message that in Mohanji’s home, there’s a strong emphasis placed on making sure there’s no waste, whether it’s food, electricity, or even water. Everything is well respected.

On the way to the event (it was maybe about two hours from where we were), we were travelling through Palakkad, which is Mohanji’s hometown, and as we were driving, Mohanji said to me, “Look, here is the spot where Ammu lost her life in a tragic road accident at the age of four.” Ammu was his daughter. I knew about this story, and as we got closer and he pointed out the spot, this made it very visceral and real. He pointed out the spot where the bus had stopped, where they got off the bus, the house which they were going to, where it happened, the hospital where she was first taken, which couldn’t accept her because they were not equipped to handle any emergencies and how they had to rush to a second hospital where they admitted her but unfortunately, the doctors said that there wasn’t anything more that they could do to help.

Dear Ammu

This was 20 years ago, and I’m sure driving past that place would have brought back a lot of painful memories for Mohanji. He had said before that this was a big loss in his life, and everybody was devastated, though it’s one that had inspired all the charitable activities. He turned it into the inspiration to create Ammucare Charitable Trust, which provides assistance and is helping the helpless millions of people across many states in India. There were no words for me to say at that time, but it made me aware of those painful memories that are still something that Mohanji carries.

After a short distance, maybe 10 minutes, we reached the location where Mohanji was received well with a garland. I hadn’t been a photographer before in my life, but on this trip, I’ve been thrown completely into it. You have to be really alert and very quick to get into the right position to take the photos quickly, especially when Mohanji was being received, and it all happened very quickly.

There was time for people to come and meet Mohanji. Many offered their pranams; they wanted to talk to him, take his blessings, and also his pictures. After some time, the procession to the Shiva temple began, and we walked in line behind Mohanji and the musicians. There was a big crowd, and after taking the blessings of Lord Shiva, Mohanji gave a Satsang on the importance of the Aarti event and sharing this message of respect, respecting the water bodies, respecting all elements that makeup Earth and our bodies.

Soon it was time to move to the ghat where the Aarti was to take place. (Ghats are like steps walking down to the river.) It was a wonderful ceremony to watch with all the steps at the ghat being lit up with small lamps. We were listening to the Aarti song, which had been composed by Devadas and also sung partly by Jyoti Bahl, who is a family member.

The pictures of the Nila River Aarti event can be viewed in the link below.

We stayed for some time as people greeted and spoke with Mohanji, then we were on our way very quickly to Guruvayur, where we are currently. The pace has been very quick, and right now, we’re getting ready for the darshan of Lord Krishna in the form of a young boy of eight years old. However, I won’t be going in because it’s not possible for Westerners.

I hope you have a great day ahead and speak to you all very soon.
