Experiences with Mohanji, India 2022 – Part 1

By Linda Abrol, Netherlands

When, on Tuesday, 5 July, I was walking in the woods with Mira, our stubborn Maltezer Shih Tzu, I received a phone call from the hospital. The last result of the extensive blood test has arrived. All other results were negative, but this last one was positive. “You’ll have to come back in three months for another blood test. But the doctor has already discussed this with you. And you can ask the other questions in three months when you get the test results,” said the assistant. When I started googling, to my horror, I saw that it was an autoimmune disorder with the possibility of various health issues like a heart attack, brain infarction, thrombosis and pulmonary embolism due to blood clotting. Giving blood thinners would be worse than the disease. Cure possibilities? No, no cure is possible. If both treatment and cure were not an option, then I would become a kind of time bomb, right?

I came across a story in Guru Leela about the immense benefits of Shiva Kavacham and immediately started listening once a day. Then the thought of Judith from Switzerland popped up. I do online Consciousness Kriya yoga with her and had also recently met her in person in Wales when Mohanji came to Skanda Vale in June 2022. Judith knew an Ayurvedic doctor in Switzerland who had two clinics in India. She thought that I really should come to Switzerland for a diagnosis by Dr George. She had never met anyone who could diagnose better.

Judith called Dr George himself to ask if there was a place for me in the hospital. 2 days later, I received a call from Dr George. He told me he could not treat me with medicine and asked if I could come to India. And if I could, if I could buy a ticket the same afternoon because his secretary was also going on holiday and had only one day left to help me with all the forms and formalities. I immediately decided to go. I called Antje, his secretary, on Friday afternoon, 8 July. She helped me enormously. The first available place was already in a fortnight! I booked my ticket the same afternoon, and even my medical visa was arranged the very next day. For that, I needed a doctor’s certificate from the hospital in India, which arrived in time.

Judith said it was a miracle that Dr George called me so quickly. That people had to wait three months for a call from him. Let alone that they could get an appointment for a diagnosis quickly. That he often gets a thousand emails a day. Who else but Mohanji could have achieved this miracle?

I was quite calm under the diagnosis and all the preparations for the trip. But under the skin, something was tickling. I started worrying about the flight because I had an increased risk of thrombosis. And because that chance is multiplied by three in an aeroplane. I sent a message to Subhasree and explained my predicament. I had a meeting with the women’s circle I attended, a lovely, small and intimate group of women who come together on a monthly base with the simple aim of loving and sharing. To support each other to keep or raise our energy frequency. I felt safe enough to share my fear with them. Suddenly there were many tears, and then I noticed how scared I was to end up half-paralysed and helpless in a wheelchair or in bed. There were four pairs of loving arms around me, and I let myself go completely and be carried in their energy. It was not wallowing. It was a total surrender to what came up as a torrent that slowly faded away, leaving behind a very clean environment, taking the fear with it.

When I got hold of Subhasree on the phone just before the trip, she promised to do Mai-Tri on the day of the flight. “And take an aspirin before you take off,” she said. “Mohanji says you have to be practical too and aspirin thins your blood.” Of course, I gladly followed her advice, and the trip went off without a hitch. And because the long queues at the ticket counter and at customs (due to the extreme shortage of staff at Schiphol these days) are not good for thrombosis either, she advised me to apply for Airport Assistance. But I was already too late for that. I decided to let that part go and see what would happen. If necessary, I decided I would dance in the queue. But strangely enough, the queues turned out to be minimal, and within an hour, I was at the gate, where I had heard stories of people who arrived at their gate after four hours and saw their plane take off right in front of them.

I took my aspirin just before take-off and walked up and down the aisles on the plane. At the Delhi International Airport, I suddenly felt a strong sense of gratitude for the prosperous journey and apprised Subhasree of my experiences. When I looked up, I saw a clothes shop and what was written on it in big letters: BIBA. For those who don’t know: that is the name of Devi Mohan, Mohanji’s wife! How close Mohanji felt at that moment! His Shakti made everything possible and even a pleasant experience.

And the fine experiences had just begun! I had already exchanged my fear of a sick, weak and nauseous process for the option: what if everything goes smoothly and is fun too? At Kochin International Airport, I was met by Sajid, the driver of Vedasudha Ayurvedic Hospital. His friendly welcome and support were just a prelude to all the warmth that flooded me on arrival at the hospital. Friendly faces were welcoming me, fresh flowers were offered to me, and I lighted a flame at the entrance of the patients’ accommodation.

The hospital was beautifully situated between rubber plantations and rich houses on adjoining grounds with more than two hundred and fifty medicinal trees planted with care by the teacher of the owner. An adorable reception building with a small temple for the founder of Ayurveda, Dhanvantari, a beautiful patient quarters with covered galleries, a cow shed, a yoga hall, a dining hall, therapy rooms and so on. The roofs of the buildings were constructed in such a way that they protruded in all directions, forming verandas for shade. The tiles were red, and squirrels used them as playgrounds.

Each butterfly, leaf and tree was twice the size of similar butterflies, trees or leaves in the Netherlands. The real tropical rainforest feeling. I could hang in there! The female therapists were unanimously dressed in pink and the men in blue. They were also unanimously friendly, helpful and caring. I was told that the energy frequency of the place was really high, which was not difficult to feel.

Why am I writing about all this? Because I could not have realised what a blessed place I had been sent to. I consider that another blessing from Mohanji. At first, I had thought it was purely a physical treatment and was happy when I discovered that they were treating human beings as integral beings. But that I would end up in a place with such a high frequency of dedicated service, compassion, and higher science is so much more of a blessing than I could have imagined.

And yet another blessing: Dr George normally worked in his practice in Switzerland, but he could examine me personally because he was now in India. And I had already heard from Judith how specific and accurate his diagnoses were, but now I also heard it daily from all the other patients. So, even though his doctors in India were phenomenal, I wanted to hear from him about what I was facing. He confirmed the hospital’s results by pressing certain points, looking at the colour of the inside of my ankle, and examining my tongue and pulse. He also examines a lot of other things, but he does that automatically according to the patients who were already there. He could give me good hope for healing. Of course, he could not give any guarantee, but he was positive. They would try to separate the crystals in my blood from the healthy blood, let it sink into my feet and then vein it out. That sounded very strange to me, but anything was better than being a time bomb.

Herewith, part 1 of this testimonial comes to an end. This is just the beginning of a wondrous experience, staged and guided by Mohanji’s grace from the initial shock of the very beginning to the wonderful and surprising end of an adventurous and unexpected extra journey. More on that later in Parts 2, 3 and 4.

Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 163 & 164

by Christopher Greenwood

Day 163 – We are all here on a tourist visa

Today I share one of my favourite lessons or reminders, which I often hear Mohanji share in many of his Satsangs and talks. It’s always a humbling reminder of a clear truth in our lives. He always shares that we were born into this world, we will live for a period of time, and then we leave. In that sense, we’re all here on a tourist visa and cannot take anything with us when we depart.

Over time, this simple yet profound truth has kept me grounded; helped me to reflect on how to best use my time and what I bring into the world. Our real value in life is what we can express and give to this world rather than what we acquire. I think this is becoming even more real for people, as COVID has isolated us; it’s taken away many of the outward enjoyments we used to have, and even people with money are restricted in what they can do.

When I look at Mohanji, I see that he truly lives his message; his needs are minimal. He has regular food during the day, a place to stay, and clothes. Maybe he has the occasional desire for a vada pav (Indian potato burger) or something like that, but overall, he treads very lightly on the earth. His thought process is always, “What more can I do?” It’s an inspiration.

He is also setting trends that accent this message. Mohanji legislated a law in Switzerland whereby on his dropping the body, his assets would go to the extended family – all the people who have dedicated themselves to the platforms with the understanding that it will be carried forth to benefit the generations to come.

I think that’s amazing, and as far as I know, no one has ever done this; it has set the trend, indeed!

Day 164 – A moment in history – First Satsang on our own land

Yesterday was an extraordinary day here in Slovenia, as we held the first-ever Satsang with Mohanji on our land, a significant milestone.

For many years, Mohanji has been travelling to various locations worldwide. His schedule was/is incredibly busy; one country to the next, one satsang to the next, venue to venue, change to change. This is an important milestone because it marks that we can begin doing things in our own spaces. It’s something significant and happened organically too, which has its beauty.

The Croatian volunteer team had asked for some time with Mohanji as he was in the Balkans. We’d been trying to arrange this for many weeks, but because of Slovenia’s lockdown, we had a quarantine period and the changing restrictions to deal with. We had to take PCR tests to cross the border and come back within a specific time; all very complicated logistical problems. Even though we confirmed the dates, we couldn’t find a venue because organizations and people were wary of being subject to inspection.

We then decided, “Okay, why not just have it on the land?” It turned out to be the perfect first Satsang despite the heavy rains on the days preceding the Satsang. I was down on the site and was to be in Wellies because it was so muddy. Instead, the day was sunny and warm, with a soothing breeze blowing around the top of the hill. One could look down across the meadows and see the trees coming through with the spring blooms. We’d arranged for everybody to meet on the land. Jelena had done a great job with one of the local ladies here, Kristina (who gave ample time and energy to this project); they’d prepared a delicious vegan lunch.

One by one, the Croatian team arrived in various cars, and it was lovely to see some new faces and ones known from before. I’ve shared before that the land itself is something special. Nature there is incredibly peaceful, and it has great energy. There was a lot of joy and happiness as people came together, met each other for the first time in a long time and as we toured the land.

Jelena shared the vision for the space with everybody. We took them past the forest where all the rishis and the munis are going to be, the places for meditation in the woods, little stands or platforms and at the bottom was a land where there’s a natural lake forming, where we’ll have some ponds, fishes, some reeds, some lilies, some lotus flowers. There’ll be decking around the pond where people can also sit – with maybe a little coffee house or something where people can take some refreshments, then spaces where Sai Baba and Dattatreya will be sitting on the land. Mohanji had confirmed with another who’s been there, a scientist, that there’s a major arable landline running through that land and two significant energy points. Sai Baba will be on one and Dattatreya on another.

Then there was the steep walk back up the hill to work off the lunch and settle down for Mohanji’s arrival. There were no chairs, so everyone brought blankets and yoga mats, and we sat down on the grass. We found a nice spot where Mohanji could be seated slightly elevated. As Mohanji arrived, there was much joy and happiness, and after all the greetings, he sat down to start the Satsang.

Even though we had no chairs, facilities, or toilets, we improvised with blankets/mats and made it happen. We wanted something to happen there on the land. It was a very intimate and close Satsang with just a few people. Mohanji shared how this day was special, a real historical moment, the first ever program on the land. Rather than a usual large inauguration where you’d have many people, this spontaneous coming together had more beauty and charm.

He pointed to us that people will never believe it started like this in the future because many people will come, and that site will be ready by that time.

Mohanji spoke on many topics. He answered various questions from the people there, which were insightful. Something which also shared was about the near future and the coming times. Since I’ve been living and working closely with Mohanji, I’ve noticed that sometimes in a Satsang, themes emerge; he starts to share a topic that is important for people to hear. He reiterates this so that more people can listen to it.

Yesterday, he spoke about

a) potential disruption of food supplies and how we can become self-sufficient with our vertical growing

b) the importance of coming together as a community, having common spaces where people can support each other and look after each other, which I think this space will also become.

Once the Satsang ended, people began to prepare for Mohanji to leave; there was a lot of photo taking. Then he spontaneously gave everyone shaktipat; I think someone must have asked for it. One by one, people lined up, I was on camera duty, and it was beautiful to see a real shift in energy. One by one after each person came and then went to sit on the land to meditate. It was nice to witness people in meditation, peace and calm in our own space.

There was a tangible feeling of peace – with a lovely view overlooking the field – the spring blossoms of wildflowers, the trees emerging green, birds chirping, and branches rustling in the gentle breeze of spring. It left a deep feeling that this was the beginning of something special.

To close the day, Jelena took to the stage, giving a beautiful rendition of the WCA anthem, ‘Reimagine’. What a fitting end! REIMAGINE! A world of beauty and harmony. A world of love where kindness lives and compassion thrives.

It’s happening.

My destiny with Mohanji – Part 1

Aditya Nagpal, India

How it started

Before meeting Mohanji in December 2013, I felt as if nothing was in place. I did not have a job, had relationship problems, and had bad habits. However, I was attending the Power of Purity meditation regularly in Bangalore. That gave me reasonable peace of mind in difficult times.

Soon, Preeti Duggal invited me to meet Mohanji at her place for meditation and satsang. When we opened our eyes after the meditation, we saw Mohanji sitting right in front of us. This was the first time I saw Mohanji. There was something different there, something I had never felt before.

Being unfamiliar with spiritual words at that time, the only thing I remember from the satsang was that Mohanji looked into my eyes for a brief moment. I will never forget that eye connection. The shift started happening there. I did not realize it then, but now I fully acknowledge and know what he did when I look back. That was the initiation I received, and I am eternally grateful to him for that. After the satsang, we all received Shaktipat from Mohanji.

I wanted to share certain personal things with him and was called to his room after the satsang. I sat looking at Mohanji, and I could not express what I wanted to share. I was extremely low in self-confidence and was afraid to talk to anyone. There was so much going on inside me, but I just could not say anything. But omniscient Mohanji knew what was going on. He told me to start doing some seva and meet him again after a year and tell him what transformation has happened. I followed it.

During the early years (2014/2015), I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with Mohanji. I got Shaktipat from him many times. After some time, I started seeing changes in myself. My awareness about myself began growing, and I became aware of my habits and eventually gave them up without forcing anything. I started loving Mohanji and his teachings. I had found a path for myself. I was not very deeply connected to him (at consciousness level) at that time, but I had accepted him as my Guru and started to follow him fully. After a few months, I started seeing a huge change in my confidence and behaviour.

Getting a job and moving to Hyderabad

I did not have a job for almost two years. I had lost hope. But after I started practising Mohanji’s meditations and after meeting him, I realized that there was nothing wrong outside, but the blockage was within me. All the negativity was sitting inside me. I was pessimistic, and Mohanji changed this. He eradicated my negativity, and it changed things for me externally as well. I became positive; I was not depressed anymore; I felt happy vibes most of the time without any reason. I gained confidence and got the job very soon after that. It was I who had blocked it.

I settled quite well in the job in Hyderabad. Soon I was ready to conduct Meditations as suggested by Mohanji. But things took a dramatic turn, and my company crashed, and I was laid off. This was disastrous for me. I did not know how to react to this. But at that time, Mohanji already had an impact on me, and instead of crying over spilt milk, I accepted it and started looking for another job.

It was a difficult time, but I felt Mohanji’s presence with me all the time. I often saw him standing in front of me and heard him saying, “Don’t worry! You have to live in Hyderabad for long. You will establish my base there.” These words came true eventually.

I got another job within 10 days. I worked in this company for almost 3 years. I started Ammucare seva work in Hyderabad, and with his grace, new people started joining. My confidence grew immensely, and I also conducted yoga sessions in my company. This was a big transformation for someone who was afraid to talk to anyone.

Test of faith

All was going great until a distraction happened. A known person whom I had met in Bangalore spoke ill of Mohanji. He had some bad experiences and blamed Mohanji for them. I became extremely angry as I loved Mohanji and never thought anyone could talk like this about him. When I met Mohanji in Bangalore, he asked me to ignore this. That meeting somewhat settled me down, but some distraction was sitting inside me.

Another time somewhere in the middle of 2017, I had another experience that kind of distracted me. I went into a relationship and was swayed by it. I became emotional and was unable to connect to Mohanji and do his meditations. During one of my meetings with Mohanji in Bangalore, I told him that I was distracted and unable to meditate and connect to him. I did not tell him what exactly was happening with me, but he knew it and brought it up in our conversation. He said, “No, you are not distracted, I am always with you, and you are progressing.”

Then he told me to put a poster in my room and write ‘Body, Mind, Intellect, Ego and Soul’ on it and see how much I was connecting to my soul each day. He said no need to try and connect with me; just watch this daily. I followed it. I started watching it daily and contemplating on it, and it worked for me big time. I could clearly observe myself going through various emotions in my relationship. This helped me remain stable during that phase; I continued seva in Hyderabad. During this period, I was a little distracted, and even though I was following Mohanji with full dedication, I was unable to connect to him fully.

Turning vegan

After following Mohanji, I became a vegetarian in the early months. With his techniques, I became more aware of myself and could see the connection between food and my emotions, which turned me into a vegetarian. In 2018, as I continued practicing his techniques, I started to have the same feelings about milk products. I realized that whenever I ate something that had violence in it, it had a negative impact on me. This turned me into a complete vegan.

Sai and Mohanji

During the period when I was unable to connect to Mohanji fully, I got deeply connected to Sai Baba. It can’t be a coincidence that my first visit to a Sai Baba temple was with Mohanji in Bangalore. Soon I became a frequent visitor to Shirdi, and I loved that place and its energy. Every visit to Shirdi gave me something.

I also started doing Ammucare seva in Shirdi. I was connecting deeply to Sai, which was extremely transformative for me. I had some wonderful experiences in Shirdi. I also used to follow Mohanji with full dedication, but there was some barrier to the physical form. Maybe I was not completely ready for a living Master.

On one of my visits to Shirdi when Mohanji was there, I thought I would miss the chance to meet Mohanji. But his plan was different. In the evening, after having some snacks in a café, I started walking towards the main Sai temple, and suddenly I heard a strong voice. It was something like ‘Meet Mohanji tomorrow and then leave’. This was so strong that I cancelled my bus trip immediately and stayed back to meet Mohanji. The next day, I had a short but wonderful meeting with Mohanji.

During our conversation, Mohanji asked me, “What did Baba say to you?” I replied impulsively, “Baba told me to meet you.” He laughed at it. After this meeting, I started seeing and feeling some kind of oneness between Sai and Mohanji. It was something like after every visit to Shirdi, and after worshipping Baba, my connection with Mohanji would become stronger. It was as if Baba was pushing me towards Mohanji. Baba was telling me that Mohanji is your Master; go to him. I still had some physical barriers in my mind. But one thing I was sure about, my connection with Mohanji was becoming stronger.

Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 161 & 162

by Christopher Greenwood

Day 161 – Refocus and Refresh our Destination

The past few days here in Slovenia have been very busy and also exciting. Yesterday, I was traveling to look at materials for the land. We’re setting up the boundaries around the space that we have. We were searching for good wood, which we can use to create fencing. Right now, we’re repairing the space. It has also been really lovely to meet local people who are connected to the activities here via Devi and the meditations that are taking place. They’re all really enthusiastic about the project, very friendly and helpful. It’s a real blessing to have their support.

Something that we were talking about at this time, because of COVID, was the need to adapt and refocus according to the changing situations. Some of these guys with whom we are now working also have their projects, but because of COVID, it’s extremely unpredictable, but they’ve also enjoyed Mohanji’s message, which is: What we can do today, we should do today, because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring, so take steps. This is generally aligned with the main theme of this year about flexibility, which is what he said everybody can benefit from in these times.

The other day when I was speaking with Mohanji, about some of the activities, he mentioned that at times in life, in big situations and small situations, there comes a need to refocus and refresh our own destination. We may have had a clear destination set out to begin with, but as we move towards it, sometimes we will encounter detours, distractions, diversions, or situations and environments will change. That need to refocus and refresh the destination is very important.

The good thing about being with Mohanji is that he always provides clarity and he always has a clear focus, which minimizes the detours, wherever possible. Now I’m really following and embracing this, but from time to time, I also look at my individual activities within the office as well and arrange myself so that I can bring focus back to them, as many of them are happening in parallel. I’m finding that it’s always good to be able to reassess and refresh the destination based on the situation now. This includes my own personal goals. If I look back at my life, there were probably some key moments where I had extreme clarity and focus, but then for some reason, whatever it was, over time, I took many detours and diversions.

One of the most clear times for me was upon leaving university. I had a very clear picture of what I wanted to be doing work-wise, what I thought I could do, but at that time, I also really wanted to be doing something that contributed positively towards the world, but through lifestyle, time, situations, and events, I took many detours and distractions from that aspect – doing something for the world. That part of my dream lost focus somewhat. Now with the work in the platforms, I’ve been able to refresh that destination and Mohanji has definitely helped bring more focus and clarity to the contributions that I can make.

Day 162 – Slovenia land visit (Mohanji Peace Centre)

Yesterday, I visited the land in Slovenia with Mohanji. This is a location for the Mohanji Peace Center, which will become one of the centers of benevolence, which will come up all across the world. I’ve shared before that the vision for these is very distinct. They will be real messages to the world for all that we stand for – living in harmony with nature. There’ll be a place where all the practices will be available, there’ll be halls, places to stay, there’ll be the forest with all the rishis and munis, there will be places for meditation, and we’ll have the lake for all the beings of the water. Here, on this land, we should even be able to build a cave into the ground where there’ll be an idol of Babaji, and people can sit in there and practice Kriya. It’ll generally just be a beautiful space for peace and coming together.

A few days back, we had the surveyor come to the land, to establish the exact boundaries of the site. This is so that we know exactly where we are before we begin fencing the land. We had come to check this after they’d done the work, and I also believe that Mohanji wanted to come here to energize the land. I’ve been with him in India before when we went to Ganeshpuri, and he did that then too, he walked on the land. At that time, it resulted in his foot swelling up as if he cleared something from the land that had come to his foot. As we set off from the apartment, there were heavy, grey skies and soon enough, as we began to get closer to the land, there was a downpour of rain; it was actually so bad that it was difficult to see the road with the windscreen wipers going, it was that heavy. The rain eased somewhat as we reached the site, and surprisingly, or not surprisingly, when he stepped out of the car onto the land, the clouds began to clear and the sun broke through and quickly cleared into very warm, bright sunshine.

First, we stood on the edge of the land at the hilltop and I pointed out where we’d marked out the new border, took in the ambiance, looking out to the site from the top, and just had a moment just to see how this year’s new green or new growth was coming through onto the trees. Mohanji has been meticulous with the activities of the land. I think many would be surprised by the level of detail that he keeps track of. He supervises closely, and those exact boundaries were an important topic for a few weeks, so as to avoid any complications in the future.

We walked around the top of the site, past the old buildings and also where we installed one of the bird feeders. We also checked one of the buildings there that has potential for renovation. As we walked, he asked me, “Did you notice a change in the weather?” I had, and I smiled to myself because there’d been a complete change from dark rain clouds to clear skies and bright sun. I’ve experienced it sometimes before when the weather surprisingly changed in his presence, although Mohanji obviously didn’t outwardly say anything.

For me, it’s exciting to be there, because as there’s movement happening, all these activities are coming together. It means that we’re not far away from having a physical space where programs can be hosted and events can be had. It’s a space that can be open all year for people to come, with beautiful peaceful surroundings, and obviously, Mohanji will be there too.

On the way back there was another example of how he takes a close, detailed account of things that you wouldn’t even think of. He asked me if I knew the distance from the center of the land, the land itself, to the house. I didn’t, so I said, “I’m not sure.” He said, “Okay, well let’s go back, we’ll drive back and we’ll check. I’d like to know.” I drove back and we reset the distance clock on the car. I was surprised that he was checking each bit of detail. How far we were to the edge of the land, the nearest house, how close we were to the main road, then to the village and the home. It’s really quite amazing, the level of detail that he takes into account.

So, soon, we’re hoping this year to have something ready where we can begin hosting the first programs.

Blessings with music

By Arvind CS and Eesha Arvind, Canada

Eesha and I visited Mohanji’s Datta Tapovan Ashram on August 27 2022, for the 4th-anniversary celebrations. We arrived just before the afternoon aarthi. Other devotees were present at the ashram, and Eesha was blessed with the opportunity to start the aarthi for Mohanji. The divine energy at the ashram was electric. I closed my eyes and could feel the energy enveloping me, taking me in its arms and swaying me in Baba’s infinite beauty. I am unable to find words to describe the feeling other than “Pure Bliss.”

After the aarthi, we all got together for a nutritious and tasty lunch followed by lively discussions. One of the devotees, Aruna, shared her musical journey and her experiences with the group. She also shared her music along with songs sung by her father. Watching the videos and listening to the songs, Eesha, who was sitting next to Aruna, was getting excited. Eesha shared her musical journey also and one of her older videos of playing the sitar. During the discussions, we mentioned that Eesha has not been playing for over a year now, as she did not have a sitar. Listening to this, Aruna immediately shared that she has her father’s sitar and would be able to lend it to Eesha to practise.

Eesha was always musically inclined, and she was taking sitar classes in Edmonton, which were discontinued due to our move in July 2021. We have been looking to purchase a sitar, but it has never happened for almost a year. The high cost of purchasing a new quality sitar was prohibitive, and other avenues of finding a sitar never materialized.

Eesha was finally getting a sitar, and this was happening at the ashram in Mohanji’s and Baba’s presence. Both Eesha and I were very happy. As it slowly started sinking in, we were overwhelmed by the kindness and the grace of the Master, Mohanji. We had almost decided not to go to the ashram, but something in me compelled me to go. Mohanji orchestrated everything and made it all happen with so much grace and love. It was a wonderful experience for both Eesha and me.

Following this, the very next day, Aruna invited us to her house for tea. The sitar holds many sentimental and emotional memories for Aruna and her family as it belonged to her late father. Aruna showed Eesha the sitar. Eesha was initially hesitant to play the sitar, but with encouragement she started playing a tune on the sitar, and the tune she remembered was “Om Sai Namo Namaha.” We brought the sitar home and kept it in front of Mohanji, thanking him for his love and graciousness.

Eesha’s experience in her own words:

“The next day, I was sitting in front of our altar and looking at Mohanji’s picture. It looked like Mohanji was smiling at me. Then Mohanji’s aarti came to my mind, and I wanted to play it on the sitar. I wasn’t sure I would be able to play it, but I felt like I should at least give it a try. I started to play the strings and initially was having trouble getting the notes and the tune right.

But something in me wanted to continue practising. After a few attempts, I got the rhythm of the aarthi and played it to mom. My mom recorded it and shared it with Aruna and her friends. Later in the day, mom shared that Mohanji liked it. I was very happy. It was suggested that I do a video recording. I did not want to do this and was very hesitant. Mohanji gave me the idea to make an audio recording. I practiced the next day and stayed up late perfecting the aarthi and recording it.”

Often times when my parents ask me to play or practise the sitar, I really don’t want to play it, but when I sit in front of Mohanji, the music just takes over, and it flows through me. I forget everything, and it’s just me and my sitar, and it’s like someone else is playing the sitar.

Thank you, Mohanji, for your grace and blessings. I would like to continue playing the sitar, perfecting the art and sharing it with everyone to enjoy.”

Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 159 & 160

by Christopher Greenwood

Day 159 – Beware of ‘Quick Fix’ Spirituality

The other day I spoke to Mohanji, and our conversation focused on the progress of the activities happening here in Slovenia. As we talked, the conversation started to touch on the path Mohanji is laying out for everybody, a Dharmic path of righteousness, which he is bringing to the world. He said that following the path of Dharma is precarious because you have to stay within the rules of Dharma for all activities, whereas if you are with adharma (unrighteousness), there are no rules; you can do whatever you like. The dharmic principles are included in what Mohanji delivers through his transformational practices and methods, such as Mai-Tri and MTM (Mohanji Transformation Method); they always include the statement, “As karmically correct or allowed,” so karma is never interfered with.

He shared when we were speaking that this isn’t always the case for other people who are seemingly delivering practices and transformation or offering quick-fix solutions or a path to spirituality. In healing, for example, he shared that many people apparently can heal – they can cure a disease, take some ailment away, or do something for somebody, but people might not see how they’re doing that. Healing needs to be fully understood because someone may be able to give somebody quick relief from pain or an illness, but if it was karmically necessary for it to happen, it still needs to happen. What that means is that somebody could potentially have temporary relief, but you don’t know the cost because karma can’t be easily moved.

This could potentially come back and come back with interest; the person who they’ve gone to could just shift it to another time, maybe another lifetime, so it’s temporarily gone but comes back with more. The person or the practitioner can be seen in high light, but actually, they’ve not done much. In fact, they could have potentially created something worse. He shared the story of a young lady who was very interested in kundalini activation happening quickly. She paid a tantric practitioner something like 500,000 INR to activate this.

Mohanji has shared that Kundalini will naturally rise once all the blockages have been removed. Once all the existing karmic blockages have been taken out of the system, it progresses naturally, which is what he explains well during Kriya and the training, which everybody does as part of Kriya. If there are blockages and yet people jumpstart Kundalini, then it can deviate. It can either go to the Sun (Pingala) – create some madness, or to the Moon (Ida) – create depression.

This is what happened to this lady; she had gone into a kind of madness. When she came to Mohanji, he asked her to go back to the same tantric practitioner and ask him to put it straight. She did that, paid again, and did the Pooja- the necessary ritual, but still, she was the same. Finally, the practitioner admitted that he didn’t know how to change it; he didn’t know how to take it back.

This is why, in Mohanji’s initiation, protection is created so that when Kundalini does rise, there’s no deviation; it’s safe. Then through the practices that we have of karma yoga (service), everything is being reduced and done in a stable way. It may not be a quick fix like what others might offer. It takes time, but then there are no quick fixes in spirituality. People going for them must be wary of the cost because sometimes people may not even know its repercussions.

Day 160 – Catching the Dimensions of Mohanji

I’d shared a message a few days back about the mosaic of Mohanji, his various dimensions and that the more time I spend with him, the less I understand. I also shared some words from a great saint who said that people wouldn’t fully understand Mohanji whilst he is alive, but those with him will be remembered long after that.

Recently, Soma ji, the Ammucare Team President, shared an incredible story, which gave me a clear insight into something much grander and incomprehensible than what my eyes can see about Mohanji, who’s in front of me. It was an incredible incident at the recent food serving for the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar, India. For those who might not know, Kumbh Mela is a colossal event where all great saints, sages and sadhus gather to take a dip in the river. It’s a very auspicious time of the year for this activity, and it holds a lot of spiritual significance in the Hindu calendar. Most years, Mohanji takes people there, I also joined one year in Prayagraj, and it was incredible.

I was there when Mohanji decided we needed to arrange food for the event. It came to him, and he wanted to ensure that people were fed there because many great saints and sadhus would be attending. It’s a fantastic opportunity to be able to serve there. It was difficult due to COVID, and the team was very cautious. They didn’t know how to do the Seva considering the many logistical difficulties, but Mohanji was determined. Despite these concerns, Mohanji didn’t take no for an answer, so the usual ‘Get it done’ order came. When he says this, it also comes with the empowerment to make it happen.

I was sitting with Mohanji the other day, he was in the room, and I was busy doing some work when he called me over to his chair and said, “Take a look at this. Read this message”. It was a message from Soma Ji. It was a fascinating experience shared by the people serving food at Haridwar. I’ll share the link to the full story because it’s extensive, and I won’t be able to do full justice as I speak now, but I’ll share it in summary.

The team in Haridwar had arranged for food to be delivered on that day. They had put all the food together, collected it, and arranged an auto rickshaw as they wanted to reach the ghats (steps leading into the water where people go to bathe) just before evening so that they could feed the sadhus dinner. As the team drove along the road, maybe a few kilometres from where they wanted to go, a Naga Baba appeared from the forest. (If you’ve ever seen pictures, these are the saints who are mainly naked with long matted hair, big beard, ash smeared all over them from head to toe, quite a sight.)

He shouted at the driver, “Where are you taking our food?” This would be a terrifying sight for me to see this Naga Baba appearing from the jungle, calling out and commanding. The team continued to drive, but the auto rickshaw just stopped. It completely stopped dead; it wouldn’t move as if it had completely broken down.

The Naga Baba shouted again, “Where are you taking our food? This food is for us!” The team said, “Okay, Let’s give them the food; we’re going to be feeding people anyway.” They followed the Naga Baba through the forest, and I think it was quite a long walk – through the darkness, through all the trees and plants and everything; they didn’t know where they were going. Soon they came to a clearing, and as it opened, more than eleven Naga Sadhus were sitting in a circle, waiting for the food. The team brought the food and began to serve. One Naga Baba said, “We know who sent this food. He’s very far away, but we know the one.”

They later said, “He is an Avadhoota; you’ll never understand him. He is beyond your comprehension and understanding. You do not know his grandeur.” After the team finished serving the food and gave their prostrations, they returned to their auto rickshaw, which automatically started working again.

I was reading this message (it was a text message) and looked up at Mohanji, smiling away. These incidents are always an opportunity for me to catch a tiny glimpse of something much bigger than my eyes can see. The only thing I can do in those situations is laugh because it sometimes brings relief when I’m focused on trivial matters and dealing with too much seriousness. Mohanji sits there in his chair, organizing these types of things.

Now I’ve even asked, “How is this possible?”

I feel I am handling something major, and here Mohanji, from his chair, is ensuring that he’s even feeding people in this forest in Haridwar. Now I could see why he was insistent that food should be served this year at the Kumbh Mela.

For me, these are some of the real insights which give a glimpse into who Mohanji is. I can’t say that I can understand them; as the saints said, we may never fully understand. These small insights are a little window into something much more profound and bigger than I see on the surface. I think it’s only through these experiences that revelations come about what Mohanji is doing and his stature because he never says anything himself. He’s always very humble and will never outwardly say that these things are being done, and I’ve seen that in many cases now.

Thinking back on some other experiences that I’ve read about or stories that I read from blogs, it’s almost as if you can thread together beads of moments when something has been shown. Nothing is outwardly told, but if you catch it, it’s almost like you can slowly put together a bigger picture of a dimension of Mohanji – for example, Ganeshananda Giri, who’s a great master that walked with Sai Baba, completely revered Mohanji. When he met Mohanji, Sai Baba told him that because of Mohanji’s past, he needed to be in suitable accommodation, so he arranged a five-star hotel for him. He’d never been into a five-star hotel himself. Mohanji didn’t need this, he would be happy sleeping on the floor somewhere, but Baba had told them to arrange this, which gives a flavour.

There was Vittal Babaji, a great Dattatreya pontiff who gave him the title Raja Yogi within five minutes of meeting Mohanji. He asked Mohanji to sit with him next to him on stage, which is unprecedented for a pontiff of that stature because there’s strict protocol. Mohanji has no protocols, but a lot of people in these traditions do. If you’re the pontiff, then you’re at the front; nobody sits beside you. People will sit behind, just like the Pope sits at the front others sit behind, but Mohanji was asked to sit next to Vittal Babaji.

It’s showing something, a clear message for me; these are precious opportunities and confirmations of something impossible to comprehend with the usual two forward-facing eyes.

Inevitabilities

By Cathy Johnston, UK

October 2019, a low point in life, inevitably led me to the one possible place in which to unearth the real skills required, to face the cruellest of tsunamis that were gradually creeping forward to engulf my Mum. A pivotal point in the tapestry of my entire existence, the one single jewel in the crown of my story, nowhere else before this place ever really existed, nor, for that matter, mattered at all.

At that lowest of lows, when I’d reached the stage where I could no longer look up, destiny brought me to a meeting with Mohanji at a mountainside retreat in Serbia. This was the day my real life unwittingly began. Little did I know, at that most confusing and perplexing of times, how much I would grow to depend upon wholly and deeply love this complete and utter stranger.

However painful the experiences before my meeting with Mohanji, nothing compared to the inevitability of saying the longest of goodbyes to Mum. I always knew this would be the hardest wrench in my life, and yet! Miraculously (others have observed), I have this newfound inner strength shining forth as I feel this power emanate, this cope-ability with the full security of safely being ‘held’.

I am never alone and feel him whenever I wish. He is my forever constant, my always ‘there’. He’s in my every teardrop; he soothes my weary brow. When my chest heaves and sighs, he’s in it. Holding my hand that’s holding my Mum’s, guiding the right words of comfort when confusion engulfs her, tormented in grief.

Words fail to do justice to the inexplicable and profound showers of grace delivered by Mohanji and the palpable guidance I’ve genuinely felt and feel as I write. Unconditional love can only be experienced to comprehend fully; that the love we’ve believed to receive whilst living this mortal life doesn’t come close to the ocean-deep love of a benevolent God.

Mohanji’s simple yet profound practices have brought steadiness to the uncertain waves of the dramas of life. Chanting his name during moments of broken sleep, I can lull myself back to a dreamy slumber, enabling my spirit to face the surprises of the new dawn ahead.

Because of Mohanji, I’ve learned to appreciate these precious moments, alone with Mum, as I hold her beautiful, artistic little hands in mine, hands that brought joy through her paintings and strokes of her erudite pen.

As I stroke her gorgeous, silken, grey hair, realising that this, this moment, this here and now, is a real chance to ‘be’ love, to ‘show’ love and to fully ‘know’ love with the very best friend I’ve been so lucky to have, on this journey called life.

How privileged I am to be able to help Mum in her greatest time of need. How lucky is she, with Mohanji in the wings, guiding her away from the inevitable pains of her drawn-out end. As harrowing and distressing as these moments could seem, I have him to come home to; to nourish my being.

Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 157 & 158

Day 157 – Keeping it Simple

Now that I’ve been with Mohanji for some time, both following him and working closely with him, I’ve heard him speak with many different people, answering many different questions. Some of these questions are similar, and many questions come about the spiritual path, such as, “What is the right practice to do? What is good for people to follow? What mantras are best?” Then the more intellectual questions such as, “What are the states of consciousness? How does that look? What is Shiva?” or something similar like, “How to meditate?”

There’s a variety of these different questions. I was always a person who had many questions. I needed and wanted to know everything about everything. This was what gave me fulfilment, collecting all this knowledge from books. I was very intellectually orientated, so most of my earlier questions to Mohanji were based on what I had read in books, either trying to confirm some type of understanding or simply to know more about everything which I had stored in my head.

Now I look back and realize I created a very complicated view about spirituality, a whole perspective of what it meant to be spiritual, including concepts of how a person should be. I had an idea, an image of what a spiritual person was, what clothes they wear if they were displaying devotion. I would see people like this and compare myself to them, but now what I’ve learned being with Mohanji more closely is that this path of spirituality can actually be very simple.

I had really complicated it before, so now the simplest thing for me is to trust in Mohanji and know that whatever is coming to me is right for me, regardless of whether I see it as good or bad. Being connected with him, I know that he’s already doing everything that he can, so I don’t really need to ask for anything because whatever needs to come will come. I do my best to flow with life and whatever it brings. This is as simple as I can probably put it down for me now. Along with that, the understanding, which has helped me realize that it is simple, is that destiny and karma will already have a plan laid down.

I do my best without involving any heavy emotions about situations, making sure I have as few expectations as possible of the outcome of actions and things like that. Doing things selflessly as much as I can, and then making sure to treat everybody with respect, all beings and all spaces, because everybody’s entitled to their space and their expression.

Then recognizing that we have heavier emotions and attributes and lighter ones, avoiding gossiping and criticizing, looking to really invest more in kindness and compassion in everything that I do, giving more, sharing what I can, simply being in service, having more of a Karma Yoga focus, and within these platforms, doing everything I can do, as much as I can do within my capacity, and sharing what I can, as I know that this helps others. It’s also clearing things for me, which I now experience as lightness in life.

I was thinking about this, that it can be simple, and I’ve spoken to Mohanji and heard him answer questions before about practices, about mantras, and these are all very, very good because they bring an alignment, they bring something that is necessary to keep people in alignment so that they can progress. But ultimately, having faith in the path and Mohanji is the simplest that I can bring this back to.

Day 158 – The Mosaic of Mohanji

From time to time, it’s possible to catch glimpses of the depth of Mohanji beyond the tangible work he’s doing in the world, all the activities he’s moving each day, and the conversations he’s having. There’s also his subtle work, which is bringing about transformation, positive transformation in the lives of many people.

I’ve shared in previous recordings that the more time I spend with him, the less I know and the less I understand his stature. I don’t think it will ever be possible for one person to understand him truly. At least it will be a very rare exception if they do. When I look at the family that we have, at all the people connected to Mohanji, he’s delivering different experiences and understandings of his dimensions through the various ways he works.

For example, the Mai-Tri practitioners and the MTM practitioners witness a completely different dimension of him than what I can perceive, and even that, I think, is not the full extent of what he’s doing in the world. For Mohanji, I think it will probably be the same as other great saints and Masters who have lived, only really recognized after they’ve left the body, then this mosaic of Mohanji will be put together.

Today, I wanted to share something that a highly respected Swami has said about Mohanji, which is incredibly beautiful and gives a glimpse of the stature of Mohanji. I think this applies to everybody connected to him, regardless of what we’re doing across all the platforms, any position we hold, anyone giving their time in service to all the platforms, or even those in close proximity to Mohanji.

This is what the Swami has said, “A time will come when your grandchildren will respectfully regard and be proud of you because you knew, followed, or lived with Mohanji. Great regret will happen to those who have left him for small expectations when their grandchildren point out their folly in leaving Mohanji. You’ll be remembered even after your death because you live with Mohanji. You may not understand him fully while he lives with you. He has come with such power, a frequency, which is not easy for people to connect to. You can accept, admire or reject him, but you cannot ignore him. Generations will be elevated because he came to us.”

I think that’s very beautiful, and when I picked it up the other day, it actually brought tears to my eyes, thinking about what’s to come and the changes that will happen because he’s here.

Skanda Vale and London – Part 3

June 2022

On Friday, I got a ride from Selma to the BE YOU event in St Albans, near London. Nico and Sita rode along with two Swamis from Skanda Vale. Again we felt carried and pampered by Mohanji during every part of the trip. The hotel was surrounded by greenery, and I was grateful that it was outside the city.

We had a lovely get-together with Parvati on the terrace in front of the hotel. Sita told us that she had read that morning in Guru Subramaniam’s autobiography that he was an incarnation of Swami Brahmananda from the Ramakrishna order. She was incredibly surprised. In all the years she had known Guru Subramaniam, she had never heard anything about this. Swami Gopal had confirmed and is regarded as the incarnation of Sarada Devi, the wife of Ramakrishna. Therefore, a trip to the Ramakrishna ashram in Bangalore was usually a regular part of our annual trip to Swami.

Sita and I shared our enthusiasm about yet another synchronicity. It felt like it had come full circle. I had still not fully understood my connection with and attraction to Skanda Vale and thought about it from time to time. Even when I said goodbye inwardly to Guru Subramaniam before leaving that same morning, I still didn’t understand how I had ended up in front of his picture in his ashram.

The next day in St Albans, I stood at the book table and picked up the book The Silence of Shiva. I asked Mohanji inwardly if he had a message for me and randomly flipped open the book. To my utter amazement, the first three lines I read told me that Guru Subramanian of Skanda Vale was the incarnation of Swami Brahmananda of the Ramakrishna order. This was too coincidental for words. Mohanji is not beside us. He is within us and all around us. He guides us in the smallest details of our lives. The incident made me feel even more embraced and supported by The Tradition.

During the weekend, I would sometimes sit and watch Mohanji give Shaktipat or sign books and bless items for people. He did everything with such intense attention that I loved to watch from a distance. To see him standing there so quietly and serenely, all in white, like a true Jesus with both hands raised to give the blessings, was a sight to behold.

When he was signing books, I saw a woman with a big pile coming. “In Silence with Mohanji”, the little booklet that I had written, was one of them. It wasn’t hard to see because it was the thinnest of all. Would Mohanji really sign it for her? I thought. What a blessing it would be to see him sign my booklet as if I still needed that confirmation as the crowning glory of my work. Something in me genuinely doubted that Mohanji was going to sign the booklet.

When he finally did it, it relaxed me and made me happy. The woman later told me, ‘When I gave the book to him, Mohanji said, “The woman who wrote it is also here. She is sitting over there,” and he pointed to you.’ That made me so happy. A little Satwic ego can do no harm, isn’t it? Mohanji knows what we need. Due to many extreme circumstances over the past six years, I had developed insecure feelings, and Mohanji leaves no stone unturned to re-empower me.

After the Consciousness Dancing session, we had a meditation, Blossoms of Love. During the meditation, all participants received Mohanji Energy Transfer (MET). I had not experienced this before. In my life, I had had many experiences with different kinds of healing power, but I was not prepared for the special effect of the MET. It was as if a small hole was drilled in my crown through which a tangible beam of light came in, into my head and torso. How does one feel light? I don’t know either, but that’s how it felt. And after the brief touch, the sensation lingered for a deliciously long time. An opening had definitely been created or accentuated. Thank you, Mohanji.

As I walked toward the event hall at one point, the thought came to me that every moment is meaningful and that we can make use of each moment to make a difference to someone. We had the possibility to not only receive Mohanji’s energy but also to give energy and attention. I did not know why this thought came to me. Surely we were in the middle of a program where everything was already organized?

When I walked into the room, a woman was sitting alone on a chair. I sat down next to her for a moment as she had my booklet on her lap. She told me she was going to have it signed. I asked her how she experienced the event because I didn’t know her, and maybe she was new. She told me that she had been informed by a friend and since her beloved dog had died only two weeks ago, she felt she had to come. I empathized with her. I know how it feels. And maybe someone else experiences it even more intensely.

Two tears rolled down her cheeks, and I literally felt her dog’s presence. He tried to give me a message by touching my left leg. I got an image of her dog licking her tears. My dogs have never done that, so it was not a familiar image to me. I asked, ‘What would your dog have done if he saw you in tears?’ Without hesitation, she said, ‘He would lick my tears.’ I said, ‘That’s exactly what he came here to do. I see it. And I feel that he is here.’ My hair stood on end, and I now understood why I had just thought of being open to offer help at any unexpected moment. Thank you, Mohanji!

A second chance to touch someone’s heart came when, after the event, I offered to distribute the leftover flowers to the attendees. Standing behind the book table was a kind lady. I asked her which flower she would like. I got to choose, she said. I tuned into her for a moment and chose the sunflower from the bouquet. She was moved because that had been her favourite flower since childhood and had a special meaning for her, another special moment that we both won’t forget easily.

At the airport, a friendly airport assistant guided us past all the long lines of people waiting. We had to wait near the gate, and a little later, Dirk van de Wijngaard, his wife Mina and Parvati arrived, also accompanied by an assistant. It turned out that they had booked the same plane. Our minds and hearts were already filled to the brim, but there was still room for more satsang, airport satsang.

Dirk was, as usual, full of stories which he shared in everlasting ecstasy and enthusiasm, and we were an eager audience. I especially loved the story about the angel-like picture of Mohanji, Dirk (on his knees) and Subhasree in Mohanji’s arms. A few rays of light touched the hearts of both Dirk and Subhasree and were living proof of their pure and unmatched devotion. I had been there when the picture was taken and felt the vibration of their love there and then.

Dirk confirmed that it was he who had given the ring to Mohanji as per the instruction of Sathya Sai and Shirdi Sai Baba, telling him in a dream: “Hey boy, get up and bring the protection ring to our son.” I had had an immediate strong notion at the restaurant that it must have been Dirk who was the giver of the ring when I heard Mohanji talking about it to Vijay, who sat opposite him at the table. At that time, it was not yet clear who exactly had been the giver. From where I sat, I heard only bits and pieces of the story. When Dirk confirmed my feeling and explained how the stones were connected with the planets, the sun and the moon and that the ring was actually meant for protection, I sighed with relief and felt that this was the answer to my prayer for protection for Mohanji!

Dirk and I have known each other for more than thirty years, and it was through his inspiration that I set up People’s Trust Zijdeverwerking. A foundation to support a Vocational Training Centre in the People’s Trust project for the poorest of the poor in Srimanahalli near Bangalore. Dirk always keeps popping up in our lives and is a blessed example of absolute, pure faith and devotion. Was it a coincidence that I was sitting right next to his daughter Parvati on the plane and that Dirk and Mina were sitting with Nico and Sita of all places?

The security officer at the airport wouldn’t let me proceed since she thought that some strange glow was seen on the scan at the heart level. I think I know what that glow was. The official asked me to remove my rudraksha mala. She thought that maybe the mala was causing the disturbance. But it wasn’t. Even without the mala, I was a suspect. Probably a Divine Thief lives in our hearts. Parvati had the same experience! She was even shown her scan by the official. And something strange and inexplicable was really clearly visible as a yellow-golden glow in her torso.

For me, it was, without doubt, the golden energy of Mohanji’s divine love that rendered our heart chakra charged with literally visible energy, that we carried home to deepen the integration of his love and served as a strong and steady base for ‘survival’ during the cleansing period that started right after we arrived home. But that is material for my next testimonial.

A warm heart full of gratitude for Mohanji and the lovely UK team, our new family. We felt carried by the warm welcome all the way from home and back. Flying to Manchester in the same plane with Mohanji and flying back with Dirk, Mina, Parvathi, Sita and Nico and feeling carried on the wings of love all the way. Thank you, Mohanji. Thank you, team UK! With all our love!
